Apple's annual four-day shopping event is now underway in the United States and many other countries, offering customers an Apple Store gift card worth up to $150 with the purchase of qualifying products from Black Friday through Cyber Monday.

apple-shopping-event-2020-banner.jpg

As usual, the offer excludes many of Apple's newer products, including Macs with the M1 chip. In the United States, for example, customers can get a $50 gift card with the purchase of an iPhone SE, iPhone 11, iPhone XR, iPad mini, any Apple TV, and select Beats headphones, with all but the iPhone SE having been released prior to this year.

Apple is also offering a $50 gift card with the purchase of 2020 models of the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro with two Thunderbolt ports, but this applies only to the previous Intel-based models released earlier in the year. The offer for these Macs is also limited to physical Apple Store locations, subject to availability.

The gift card offer applies to purchases made at Apple Store locations, on Apple.com, in the Apple Store app, or by calling 1‑800‑MY‑APPLE.

The gift card values are as follows in the United States:
  • $150 for 16-inch MacBook Pro or 21.5-inch iMac
  • $100 for 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 11-inch iPad Pro, or HomePod
  • $50 for iPhone SE, iPhone 11, iPhone XR, iPad mini, Apple TV 4K, Apple TV HD, and select Beats headphones
  • $50 for remaining inventory of Intel-based MacBook Air or 13-inch MacBook Pro with two Thunderbolt ports, at Apple Stores only, subject to availability
  • $25 for Apple Watch Series 3, AirPods, or AirPods Pro
Apple's terms and conditions provide more details.

Many retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, and Walmart are offering better deals on Apple products, so keep track of our Black Friday roundup.

Well $100 off HomePod would drop it to $199! Wow, I'd take 2 for surround sound but alas I live in The Netherlands... an Apple 3rd World Country... no HomePod, no LTE Apple Watch so no Stainless or Hermes Model, no refurbished/clearance models, no real discounts like the US and BestBuy, etc (which is odd... the Dutch love saving money, yet I tend to pay way more here... and that's even with taking out the 21% VAT).

Normally I wait and buy everything back in the US, but with Covid the holiday trip back home is cancelled...

For everyone in the US Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy your great dinner and amazing discounts!

Was thinking of getting the new MBA but this lowers the urgency.

This is a lousy deal if it applies only to the old MBA.

I was on the a Apple Store two days ago, I had an appointment to purchase a base iPad 8th gen and a M1 MacBook Air. They were sold out (in all colors) at 3PM, I wasn’t able to get any.

I came right now from my city’s local Apple Store. The M1 MacBook Air is sold out, and I managed to get the base iPad but it was one of the few remaining at 3PM.

Those two devices are selling literally like hot cakes (although not as hot as intel laptops lol), and I can understand why Apple didn’t include them in the promo. But as a customer I would have liked to have gift cards for every product honestly.

The M1 systems are like PS5's and Xbox's at the minute. you're not going to see offers on new stuff are you.

Doesn't this actually include the M1 chip? Apple doesn't sell Intel-based MacBook Airs anymore. Nor does it sell 2-port TB3 Intel MacBook Pro's. Those are all M1 models.

The only 13-inch MBPs it sells are the 4-port TB3 models..

Edit: after reading the terms & conditions it looks like these are the Intel models:

"(end-of-life products (except MacBook Air 2020 Retina 13-inch and MacBook Pro 2020 13-inch Two Thunderbolt 3 ports, Apple Store locations only, subject to availability)"

So can I buy a Mac, use the gift card there and then to offset the price or it can only be used on the second purchase? Ie I pay full price for the Mac?

I decided I am going to buy my M1 off Amazon instead. Apple’s process is too restrictive and Kim Khardashian like.

The $50 gift card for the 2019 iPhone 11 makes it the Best Value iPhone since the Release of the 2016 7+ !

$599 - $50 = $549 effective cost !

Anyone who doesn't really need OR want to pony up for the latest & greatest should, IMO, strongly consider it as one of their top choices.

Consider this, $599 (iPhone 11) + $599 (iPad Air 4) - $50 = $1,148 (just about the same cost as an iPhone 12 Pro Max)

IMO, Apple has two 5-star products right now, the 12 Pro & the Air 4.

Their highest value product offering right now is the 2019 iPhone 11.

looks like the new entry iPads are sold out until at least 2 or 3 weeks for apple stores in the UK- which is surprising seeing as though they've only been doing click and collect for the last month.

I saw on Amazon the 128gb iPad (2020) for £409 which is £29 less than Apple AND they had stock for delivery on Prime. I ordered one but will return it if there's a better deal that appears in the next few days.

I picked up my M1 MB Air on the 2nd day available from the Chatswood store.
So pleased with it, I don't care at all about gift cards.
Porting my software to M1 was the easiest port I have ever done.

This time of year is always a great opportunity to buy some amazing Apple tech at unbelievable prices. The deals on HomePod Pro and Apple TV 4K look red hot.

The iPad Air is the only product out of stock in physical stores in my area. 3 of the 4 Apple stores on a hundred mile radius have all models of the M1 MBA in stock, as do all the Best Buy’s. Have you tried other retailers besides Apple?
