Let's check with the 3 witches if this is gonna be a hit.
I'd like to see Kathy Najimy, Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker in the role of the 3 witches.?

Have you ever seen 1980’s The Elephant Man which was nominated for multiple oscars? It was filmed in black and white and is one of my favorite movies. Check it out. Just out of curiosity how old are you?
You don't even have to go that far back in time.

Mank was nominated for 10 Oscars and won for Best Cinematography and Best Production Design.

There was also Roma (2019); It had 10 nominations and won 3 among them was Best Cinematography.

Other recent B/W standouts over the past 40 years: Schindler’s List, Sin City, Pleasantville, The Artist, Nebraska,...

The fact that they give it away with every Apple device, which means you don’t buy Apple products, or you do and you’re too stubborn to sign up. It’s been free since day 1 and it remains free to this day for anyone and everyone whoever made use of the free year.

Ive passed on two free trials, that is how little I care about Apple TV and it’s content.

I use my 4 4k Apple TV’s in my home to stream YouTube, which entertains me far greater than the crap on Apple TV

You have to let me know what YT channels you are watching since I struggle to find anything that keeps me interested, let alone subscribing, since its just LOUD SOUNDS and clickbait thumbnails. And don't even get me started on the GD ads that take an otherwise quick and fun experience and turn it into and existential crisis of either "what the f*** have I been searching" or "wow, you must really think I'm an overweight individual" type of interruptions.

I’m sorry but I nodded off half way through reading that list. I get it, they have a lot of boring shows available to watch. It’s all filler and no killer from what I can see. What is the headline must see film or show?

I used to have an aversion to black and white films too but that was when I was much younger. Now I seek them out because they can be beautiful in a way that simply turning down your saturation cannot approximate and tend to be shot with more care than color films. Mank was a great example of production design and cinematography considerations that most pro cinematographers wouldn't even consider when shooting color film/video.

The randomness of it all is what makes YouTube so addictive. I can spend hours watching old music videos then watch funny videos of dogs and puppies playing or some bloke getting hugged by a lion.

Must see shows for me are Ted Lasso, Mosquito Coast, Mythic Quest, Morning Show. All their movies are solid but no breakout hits yet.

Lost me at black and white.
In cinematography, colors are just a tool. Not every movie needs colors and certainly not every movie needs B&W. It’s like CGI.

That’s when you see the difference between a good director and a bad director. A director that shoots the movie in B&W just to seem artsy will tank the movie. Other movies in color will not work. Someone mentioned Lynch’s the elephant man; no one in the cast wanted in B&W, Anthony Hopkins tried with all his might to get the director fired. Then, after the first viewing, everyone understood why B&W was needed.

Youtube is the Las Vegas strip of culture. It's a hodgepodge of desperation and marketing. That can be entertaining and even informative but you spend a lifetime sifting through the garbage to get something of value. Not to mention the algorithms that create extremism and divisions for the sake of clicks. Not worth it for me.

Yeah, the randomness is why I can't seem to spend forever on YT and certainly not with autoplay enabled.

I like things precise, measured, expected, and repetitive, which is probably why I spend so much time looking at these screens:

If you approach YT with the same mindset you approach a library it can get quite useful. Double edged sword.

I completely forgot about Mank with the lack of theaters! Glad you posted this.

Good point but libraries have indexes and references that don't care how popular or how much ad revenue their suggestions will generate. Popular entertainment is fine but if you're relying exclusively on YT to tell you what to watch, you're simply seeing what advertisers want you to see.

Very true, that's why YT requires some extra mental effort. Honestly it's full of interesting, useful stuff, just access it with a specific goal in mind.

Wow you can’t please everyone. Season 2 of For All Mankind was hands down the best show across all services during it’s run. Different strokes then.
