Kinda over Hanks. Would have been better with Don Johnson… A Man and his Dog and his Robot. Plus if it had a girl that got eaten in the end.
That’s not a valid comparison in the slightest! Both DUNE & NO TIME TO DIE were released in September, while FINCH was released only last week, nearly 2 months later…Apple is certainly spending some cash on movies with A list stars. But without having absolute numbers stories like this one are rather meaningless. Finch has 21k ratings on imdb. This is not a large number, certainly not a blockbuster size. By comparison No Time to Die has 155k ratings and Dune has 150k.
I enjoyed Finch, but it wasn't amazing. Way better than Foundation though...I got so bored after 4 episodes of Foundation that I just couldn't force myself to keep going.

Yeah.. watched it with my 10 yr old. She enjoyed it sufficiently enough. I did think it was "ok". Could've been much better. Overall, it's good for "family time", tho.Riddled with implausibilities that may irk some, but in the end it’s a touching tale of friendship and adversity that stirs the soul. 7/10
yes, that’s a good point. I thought of that but had nothing more immediate to compare it to. the numbers in a couple of months will be much more meaningful. looking at the numbers for Greyhound (the previous high mark for ATV+ movie according to this article) it has 85k imdb ratings after more than a year out. quite a bit less than Dune and No Time To Die after 1 month. of course this is not unexpected b/c the platform is limited. If Finch exceeds the Greyhound numbers after a few months that will indicate subscriber growth of ATV+.If you're going to use IMDB reviews as a benchmark (not a bad surrogate, IMO), you can't really compare a film that has been out five weeks to one that's just a few days past its opening.
Hmmm, I really liked Mythic Quest, Ted Lasso, See, Morning Show, Servant, Physical. I am looking forward to seeing this movie as well as The Shrink Next Door, Invasion, Foundation, and Dr. Brain. There is great content there for documentary, educational, and kid content as well. After watching a movie and a few dramas, there is nothing to do with the Apple TV+. I guess it follows the fate of ping.
"Opening weekend" used to mean money made on opening weekend.
Now it means views.
World is changing fast.
Foundation is great, the last episode was really well acted and gripping. People are hating on it because they've either read the books from the 40s and they've changed things or because it's not a Disney basic action series with no depth.I enjoyed Finch, but it wasn't amazing. Way better than Foundation though...I got so bored after 4 episodes of Foundation that I just couldn't force myself to keep going.
I agree foundation was a bit convoluted and slow at the start, but it has picked up second half of the season with some interesting plot twists.I enjoyed Finch, but it wasn't amazing. I got 3 free months of Apple TV+ trial with my iPhone purchase and I never redeemed it. Didn’t see anything that remotely looked interesting. I guess that’s bad.
Yeah, I think this was a pretty meh movie. I fell asleep after a while and my wife mentioned I didn't see the ending. It wasn't all that interesting, but maybe I'll get the ending for some closure?Bit of marketing can make the worst movie get a few views.
If you haven’t seen this - don’t. Lol.
It’s a movie about a dog. The future of the planet is to be left to the animals? At least that’s my take on it.
Hard to care about the characters, the story and the action scenes were for the most part predictable and boring.
