I have been suffering from this issue for a week or so now on my Series 7. Unfortunately, despite installing todays update and bug fix I still have the issue whereby my Apple Watch refuses to charge. The only way to solve it is to restart the watch every time.

Such a clean organized deployment of device and software updates.

Imagine if Epic and it's consortium was selected to deploy software updates for all the apps in the AppStore?! Does anyone think it would ever be as smooth or seemless and have the LEAST amount of data (for efficiency) or the concern of battery use during deployment and installation?

I see it. Will install and see if I notice an improvement. I’ve been pleased so far

Confirmed the update is showing on my SS but not the wife’s Aluminum version.

I’m still waiting for apple to fix the iMessage bug I’ve been experiencing since day one with watchOS 8.

I’ll respond to a new message on my iPhone and 10-20 mins later my watch will ding with the same ‘new’ iMessage which i already responded to.

Same here. So annoying.

How slow is "slow" in the context of this bug? I have been underwhelmed by the charging speed of my watch but wasn't sure if I had the wrong expectations. Maybe it was this bug.
Well for me ‘slow’ was stationary. My watch would often stop charging completely.

I wear mine all the time and take it off to charge at about 6:30pm whilst getting my kid ready for bed.

I get up at 3:30am for work, get home any time up to 6pm and literally have about half an hour free time on a weekday - my wife gets up at 5am and we go to bed at about half past 7 weeknights. So when it does this it’s incredibly annoying. I use it as my alarm to get up, if I just leave it then it won’t make it through the next day so when it does this I have to put it back on charge and stay awake while it charges to 90% or so before I can put out on and go to sleep. It actually did it last night - a restart fixes it but you never know when it’s going to happen again and it takes you by surprise.

I really hope they’ve fixed it!

I'm also sporadically experiencing this.

Confirmed the update is only for the cellular model. I have it on my SS (ie with cellular) but not the wife’s GPS only model.

It’s so annoying. I have to restart my watch every time before charging. This morning I woke up, put it on the charger, watch shows charging animation. 30 min later as I left for work it shows 1% less battery ??‍♂️

I have the GPS only model and I am still on 8.1

Legitimately thought i had a faulty one. The funny thing is charging with my 20w charger was waaay slower than charging from my laptop. Will update and test it out.

One of the issues observed was that the watch would stop charging after a min or so randomly. Restarting the Watch would normally fix the issue for a few days.

I had it happen nice so far. Hope they fixed it, I was worried it was a hardware issue when it happened, but that was a few weeks ago now.

Wow. I just noticed this issue yesterday and then this morning when I woke up the watch wasn't charged at all. I thought I might have a dodgy charger so I changed chargers and the same thing happened - charged for about 30 seconds and then totally unresponsive, black screen etc, that would last a minute or so. I go into the settings and see if there is an update and there is! Installed it and now works perfectly... so far! Fingers crossed it sticks.

Perfect timing, I've just got my Watch 7 and I was thinking it was charging very slowly... now I know why... hopefully...
