Apple is finally catching up to demand for its latest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, with wait times for both models in lower-end configurations substantially improving over the last month in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

As MacRumors reported last month, across Apple's entire MacBook Pro line, customers were facing at least several weeks before they were estimated to receive either their 14-inch or 16-inch MacBook Pro. Since then, Apple has significantly caught up with demand, as now, customers can get their hands on either model in their baseline configurations in two weeks or less.

Compared to just a few weeks ago when both baseline models of the 14-inch and 16-inch laptops were seeing wait times of six to eight weeks, estimated deliveries for both with the M1 Pro chip are now just five to seven days or up to at least two weeks, at the time of writing. However, the supply improvement stops short with only the M1 Pro chip, as M1 Max configurations of both sizes remain limited, with estimates indicating orders won’t arrive until at least early April.

The Apple Stores around here look to have some of the pre configured models in stock and available now. However, the iPhone Pro is still hit and miss on inventory.

Hopefully, resellers will be catching up as well.

Work ordered me the 16" 10/24 Max with 32GB RAM and 512GB storage with our reseller (CDW, I think?) on 2/1. No estimate from them on delivery, just "backordered." I anticipated at least 6 weeks. I'm hoping it won't be much more than 8.

Honestly the M1 is still excellent and with the chip shortage and the demand just caught up finally to the pros now the m2 will be awhile before people get their hands on them if you don’t preorder them in 2 mins honestly

Last week I ordered a 16 M1 Max with 24c GPU, 32GB of ram, and 1TB hard drive. Would love for the shipping time to improve, but currently it’s showing April 14-27. Last Mac I owned was a 2010 17” MBP. I’m excited to get my hands on it and start working with it.

CDW as a vendor sucks for anything not Lenovo in North Amaerica. Stock of a macs is usually low and not their primary order.

I’m concerned production yields for M2 chip line will be impacted by all the M1 lineup.

I ended up going for a stock 1tb 14 inch model from the store because I didn’t want to wait for a 512gb with an unbinned M1 pro. Anyone else go for store models instead of waiting too?

Yes, I went and grabbed a 16” M1 Pro 1TB instead of waiting for the Max. The wait period was months and that was nowhere near a timeframe I could wait for a new computer. Seems to have been a great decision as this machine has handled everything I’ve thrown at it with ease.

I got the base model 14 inch because I urgently needed a replacement for my horrible 16 inch MBP. It’s the best computer I’ve owned after several years of really disappointing personal and work Macs. I think it’s pretty much perfect.

It'll be worth the wait. I got the same config except opted for the 2TB hard drive mainly for photography. It's an incredible machine.

We've ordered hundreds of 14" for our enterprise. Usually they ship in 3-4 weeks but sometimes 1-2. They really haven't been that constrained, all things considered.

USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 Docks on the other hand? I have been having a hard time acquiring docks ever since the chip shortage began!

Well, that's great shipping times have decreased. However, I ordered a 16" with 64 gb ram, 2 tb HDD back in December, and my shipping *date* is still scheduled for sometime in March. My config is consistent with what a typical pro would order, hence Macbook "Pro". Until I came across the article I chalked matters up to the global logistics issues.
