Canarias cerró diciembre de 2023 con una población de 2.236.013 personas, lo que supone un incremento de 23.995 habitantes en el último año, en el que la población fue de 2.212.018 personas.

Canarias es la 7º Comunidad Autónoma de España en cuanto a población se refiere.

La población femenina es mayoritaria, con 1.132.208 mujeres, lo que supone el 50.63% del total, frente a los 1.103.805 hombres que son el 49.36%.

Canarias tiene densidad de población media, con 300 habitantes por Km², está en el puesto 15 de las CC.AA.en cuanto a densidad.
