  RECHARGEABLE BATTERY TIPS
Rechargeable Battery Tip 1  Rechargeable Battery Tip#1:
Rechargeable Battery Tip 1  Before you use your new NiMH rechargeable batteries for the first time you must charge them fully. Please note that for new NiMH rechargable batteries, it is often necessary to cycle* them at least three to five times or more before they reach peak performance and capacity. The first several times that you use your NiMH batteries you may find that they run down (discharge) quickly during use. Not to worry, this is normal until the batteries actually form up. Please Note: New Batteries should not be conditioned if your charger has a manual conditioning button. You should only use the conditioning feature after you have used your batteries several times and you feel that they are not performing as well as they had in the past.

*What do we mean by "cycle" ?

1. Charge your batteries fully.
2. Allow them to cool before placing them into your camera or equipment.
3. Use your equipment as you normally would until the batteries are discharged and need to be recharged.

This is one complete cycle.

Rechargeable Batteries Tip 2 When storing NiMH rechargable Batteries for any length of time, you must make sure that you recharge them about every 30 days. Failing to recharge your rechargeable batteries regularly could eventually cause them to no longer accept a charge, thus making them totally useless if left in an uncharged state for very long.

NiMH Rechargeable Battery Sub 1 Always be sure to store your nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries in a charged state.

NiMH Rechargeable Battery Sub 1 Charge you stored batteries at least every 30 days or so in order to keep your rechargeable batteries in tip top shape.

Rechargeable Batteries Tip 3NiMH rechargeable Batteries are great for Flash units due to their very fast recovery times.

Rechargeable Batteries Tip 4Lower capacity rechargeable AA batteries -1700 up to 2000mAh mAh can be recharged up to 1000 times in overnight slow charge mode. 2100 to 2400 mAh can be recharged up to 600 to 800 times in overnight slow charge mode. The new Higher Capacity AA 2500 mAh rechargeable batteries have greater storage capacity but can be recharged approx up to 500 times in the overnight mode. Capacity improvement or Quick charging will always decrease the number of cycles. Most cells available on the market above 2100 mAh will provide below 1000 charge cycles.
