Human evolution in the Middle Pleistocene: The role of Homo heidelbergensis

G. Philip Rightmire is Professor of Anthropology at the State University of New York at Binghamton. In his research, which focuses on the evolution of the genus Homo, he has studied fossils from many of the important prehistoric localities in Europe, Africa, and the Far East. He is particularly interested in questions about Homo erectus, Middle Pleistocene hominids, and the origins of more modern humans.
