Google advertisers today received word of a new feature: seamless mobile integration into AdWords campaigns.

Google’s Mobile Blog announced that AdWords users can now avoid creating ads in special mobile formats and send desktop ads directly to the iPhone, G1 and other devices with full Internet browsers by simply checking a box:

Recently, the Google mobile team launched new results pages formatted specifically for the iPhone. Now, advertisers will be able to display ads exclusively on these mobile devices, create campaigns for them, and get separate performance reporting. If you prefer not to show your desktop ads on these phones, you can opt out and show ads only on desktop and laptop computers.

Mobile purveyors have been announcing for years that THIS year will be the breakout year for mobile, all for naught, but steps like this, that allow for scalability and ease of use in the mobile space will pave the road for money to starting shifting into the space.
