Summary

  • Henry Cavill's composed moments in the 'Electric Energy' music video add a hilarious touch.
  • The video features an ensemble cast including Bryan Cranston, John Cena, Bryce Dallas Howard, Catherine O'Hara, Sam Rockwell, and Samuel L. Jackson.
  • The catchy disco tune is climbing up the charts, and the video is expected to further boost its popularity.

Henry Cavill doesn’t need to do much to get his fans excited – and he really doesn’t do much in his part of the new music video for Argylle soundtrack single release, ‘Electric Energy’. The track is performed by Boy George, Ariana DeBose and Nile Rodgers, who appear in the video alongside the film’s main cast. However, while everyone else gives it their all, Cavill’s more composed moments only serve to make the video even more hilarious as he tries to give off a sense of decorum among chaos.

The video, which can be seen below in all its glory, finds Bryan Cranston, John Cena, Bryce Dallas Howard, Catherine O’Hara, Sam Rockwell and Samuel L. Jackson all hamming it up to the lively, toe-tapping tune. While their performances are all jazz-hands, wide eyes and wildly exaggerated facial expressions, Cavill’s several brief appearances find him looking like the sober person at the party who is being dragged along to the karaoke machine. Brace yourself for three-and-a-half minutes of pure joy.

The video editor certainly needs a solid round of applause for their cuts between the gurning faces of Cranston and Cena, to the pleasantly amused – or maybe it’s bemused – expression of the movie’s lead star. Regardless, the catchy disco tune has been skipping up the charts, and the video is going to help it on its way.

The enigmatic action spy comedy has an ensemble cast to die for, with the stars of the ‘Electric Energy’ video being joined by Dua Lipa, Sofia Boutella and Rob Delaney among others.

Apple TV+'s Argylle: Plot, Cast, and Everything Else We Know
Argylle is Matthew Vaughn's latest spy movie film, and the film's trailer revealed a major twist to the premise. Here is everything we know.

What is the Plot of Argylle?

Universal Pictures / Apple TV+

The plot of Argylle revolves around Bryce Dallas Howard's character, Elly Conway, a reclusive author of best-selling espionage novels. Her life takes a dramatic turn when the plots of her books, which focus on the secret agent Argylle, start mirroring real-life covert operations of a spy organization. Accompanying her on this unexpected journey is Aiden (Sam Rockwell), a cat-allergic spy.

While the plot in itself has been done in several ways previously, this movie comes from Matthew Vaughn, which gives everyone an idea that this is not going to be a run-of-the-mill spy movie. To boot, the film is based on a novel by a fictional author, unsurprisingly Elly Conway, that has not yet been published, and the real writer of which is currently unknown. While Vaughn has promised that the real Elly Conway will be revealed in good time, speculation has seen everyone from Stephen King to Taylor Swift named in the running as potential candidates.

Argylle is part of a planned trilogy, with future films set to explore the origins of Cavill’s titular character, while Vaughn has also revealed a shared universe connection to his Kingsman franchise, and a third unnamed franchise, that could lead to a crossover event somewhere down the line.

Argylle opens in theaters on February 2 and will move to Apple TV+ at a later date.
