Action adventure doesn't get much cheesier than The Scorpion King.

Norton S The Rock was so much better in Jönssonligan Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/24 Full Review Finn M Just sit back and have fun. Its not a good movie but its fun Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/13/23 Full Review Badger P Fun to watch, not realistic but a good movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/21/23 Full Review Audience Member It’s a lot of murdering people but it’s really good Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/10/23 Full Review Richard R Good movie overall. I guess it was cheesy for it's time, but I still enjoyed it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/26/23 Full Review Red T The acting is ok by the supporting cast but the Rock just feels like he is playing himself. His character has no backstory or development other than he becomes King and gets the girl. Overall he just isn't that good. The cinematography and editing both struggle sometimes for direction. The majority of this film feels like its actually a slapstick comedy more than a serious Adventure Movie which it clearly is trying to be but can't make the comedy work together with the Acton. The sets are well designed though. This is a film where pretty much all the action is over the top, makes you roll your eyes more than laugh, and topped off with bad CGI Fire Ant. The camerawork is basic stuff for the most part with the occasional creative angle every 30 minutes. The music is generic and forgettable while being over the top as well sometimes. This is a very quick film with ok pacing. Honestly its very forgettable comedy or adventure. It's filled with brainless action and not much charm. I cant really recommend this to anyone except die hard Rock fans. Otherwise skip it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Nell Minow Common Sense Media On the silly popcorn scale, it works pretty well. Rated: 3/5 Dec 29, 2010 Full Review Michael Wilmington Chicago Tribune Another grandiose, hyperactive crock, full of lame jokes and gorgeous, stupefying images. Rated: 2/4 Jul 20, 2002 Full Review Michael Rechtshaffen Hollywood Reporter All the necessary exposition prevents the picture from rising above your generic sand 'n' sandal adventure. Apr 24, 2002 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) Just as much big, dumb fun as an A-grade B-movie should be. Rated: 3/5 Sep 11, 2020 Full Review Sean Collier Box Office Prophets The effects are terrible, the comedy falls flat and the story is an utter mess. Rated: 2/10 Jul 27, 2020 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending It's hard to follow and doesn't reward the effort of following it. It's not good drama, and it's not good spectacle.
