      Critics Consensus

While not without its moments, Shrek Forever After too often feels like a rote rehashing of the franchise's earlier entries.

Platty the Perrypus W Much better than that third movie that never actually existed according to me Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Eric c i'm not sure if Shrek forever after is underrated as much as it was back then but i hope more people watch and talk shrek forever after i loved this movie ever since i first watched it i give shrek forever after a 8/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/04/24 Full Review Juan David G I seriously liked this movie. It is really underrated in my opinion. Plus Rumpel was my favorite villain in the franchise. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/03/24 Full Review Water W Movie is an absolute emotional masterpiece with a unique spin-off, amazing story with a beautiful villain thats smart and shivey, but you cant stop watching them, its a serious movie and it takes itself seriously Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Noureddine M In my opinion the movie is good , I know that seems weird but the reason why I like it is because of the story that it's telling to us, it's not a cheep sequel to get more profits ( like what Disney is doing ) but a satisfying and nice written story. All the movie is about Shrek bad thoughts about having a family, friends and the huge responsibilities towards them, during it he learn how much he is lucky to have it and how much he was wrong facing the real truth of who his life is supposed to look without them, he understands finally the chance that he have and the real happiness that he was living with Fiona and his children. In addition the strong Fiona that Shrek meets is amazing, knowing how much she had suffered in this tower alone, the jokes aren't that good but the evil guy is nice and the animation is pretty. My point is that this movie deserves more attention and people most reconsider in it , Shrek forever after is not as bad as everyone thinks and all the Shrek saga is an amazing series of movies ( except for the third one , it is really bad , I hate when people say that Shrek forever after is wors than it ,SERIOUSLY ?!) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review Maria O GET OUTTA MY SWAAAAAAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/15/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express [Shrek Forever After] is a satisfactory way to end the series. Rated: 3/5 Apr 16, 2019 Full Review Deborah Ross The Spectator The rot set in with the third film, I think, and now, with the fourth, it's decomposed and gone to that black sludge you get at the bottom of the bin. Aug 30, 2018 Full Review Andrew O'Hagan London Evening Standard The movie is a family drama about the family drama, so on every available level it works a treat.
