OSULP LibGuides content licensed Creative Commons

Most content created by Oregon State University Libraries & Press (OSULP) in LibGuides and the Canvas How-To modules is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license. These guides are identified by a Creative Commons license icon in the footer of the document.

Material hosted on the LibGuides platform and in the How-To modules are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC-BY-NC 4.0). As a private individual, you are free to copy, share, remix, and build on these works as long as you use them in accordance with the terms of this license. When using these works, you must provide attribution and not use them for commercial gain, among other terms and conditions.

Works excluded from this license include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Content owned by other entities;
  • Content published under other licenses or marked as “all rights reserved”;
  • Images in which Oregon State University students or employees are personally identifiable;
  • Software and applications created by third parties, including Springshare.

According to Creative Commons, “NonCommercial means not primarily intended for or directed towards commercial advantage or monetary compensation.”

How to Credit OSULP

To give appropriate credit to OSULP, you must include the following:

  • Title of the page and its URL
  • The author of the page
  • A brief description of any modifications you made
  • The type of license and its URL

Images

Images used on the guides.library.oregonstate.edu platform must comply with OSU policy on the use of images on websites. Some images on the OSUL&P website are also licensed under Creative Commons.

  • Workshop handouts
