Creating a culture of publication integrity together
About us
Promoting integrity in scholarly research and its publication COPE brings together all those involved in scholarly research and its publication to strengthen the network of support, education and debate in publication ethics It also provides a forum for its members to discuss individual cases. COPE does not investigate individual cases but encourages editors to ensure that cases are investigated by the appropriate authorities (usually a research institution or employer). All stakeholders believe that the issue of paper mills is a serious threat to the integrity of the scholarly record. Today United2Act has released a Consensus Statement with 5 key areas of action against the impact of paper mills on the integrity of academic research and publishing. An impressive group of international stakeholders -from research bodies, publishers, researchers/sleuths, universities, and publishing infrastructure- are working to develop and execute plans on: *education and awareness *improve post-publication corrections *research paper mills *enable the development of trust markers *continue to bring together the many voices in this area through joint projects and initiatives. United2Act is supported by COPE and STM https://united2act.org/
