IPEd is delighted to announce the launch of the third edition of the IPEd standards for editing practice (the Standards). The Standards sets out the core standards that professional editors in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand should meet and is a valuable and useful resource for editors and those working in associated industries and roles. The review of the Standards has been a thorough, consultative process that has taken close to three years to complete. This edition has a strong focus on editing for accessibility, diversity, equity and inclusion, and Māori and First Nations peoples, with reviews conducted by external specialists. Other changes to the Standards reflect the current and emerging trends in the editing and publishing industry.
