Since the year began, I've received over 200 new follows/connections. Welcome 👋 I think it's timely to reintroduce myself. I left school with only 2 A-C GCSEs, struggled through A-Levels, and barely got into university. In my 2nd year, I was close to dropping out, but the desire to make my dad proud kept me going. Amidst working, co-founding a business, and coping with my dad's cancer diagnosis, I persevered and achieved a First Class degree. Sadly, my dad passed away before I could share this with him. After his passing, I realized it wasn't about the grade, but the journey. I toured universities with my talk 'How on earth do I get a first', (see pic below) going to 15 uni's & impacting over 3,000 student lives, many of whom are now thriving professionals connected with me right here on LinkedIn. 🙂 While interning as an Graduate analyst, I received a email that simply read ' I was on a 3rd when I came to your talk, but I've just got a 1st! I will never forget sitting at my desk in that lovely Liverpool Street office, when I realised my true passion: helping others succeed. I switched careers, pursued postgraduate studies, and began lecturing, eventually becoming a Student Success Lead at University of Hertfordshire. I co-led team efforts that saw our Awarding gap go from 27% to 11% and a Value Added score of 0.99. (In short, student outcomes improved) I semi switched career again and in 2018, I founded the Educate Group, a social enterprise focused on improving equity & success in Higher Education. We've since worked with over 20 HE/FE providers, supported 1,000+ academics/ professional staff members, and helped over 1,500 at-risk students not drop out of their degree course. Education is more than a certificate; it truly can be transformational For me It's been an interesting journey but somehow it feels like I'm just getting started! That's my story, what's yours?

Helping individuals own their careers building positive career habits | Building the nexgen workforce | Building a Corkscrew Thinking community | Learning Experience Designer & Creative Facilitator
Over the last 🔟 years we have worked with thousands of learners from high school all the way to phd and postdoc level. We have also worked with professionals from early careers, to career changers and retirees and we have identified one clear pattern 🤔 No matter the age, academic or professional stage most people let career happen to them, being reactive and aiming to make informed decisions in inflection points without knowledge about themselves as professionals and the possibilities available. We want to change that and support people building fulfilling careers, taking ownership of their professional journey and making informed decisions that work for the individual. After testing several digital products we are moving away from the cluttered attention sucker screens and going all analogic to help people focus and build positive career habits. This week we will be finishing the 1st draft of the Career Habit Pro. Big things are happening soon, so stay tuned and if you want to know more. sneak-pic of a creation session last week #careerhabitpro #careerexploration #careerdevelopment #careergrowth

How can we work to help students not only navigate different career options, but to fill in their knowledge gaps as well? How can #GenZ fully explore what's out there when they don't have the guidance needed? In this article for WorkingNation by Allison Danielsen, executive director at BigFuture Careers and Partnerships (part of The College Board), she explains that failing to discuss #careerexploration in schools can lead to students being underinformed about their education, alternative pathways, and what they would like to do for work. Check it out below!

Today is another day of IMPACT for campus students! There is sparsely a career that does not have its space flooded and crowded with innumerable individuals creating a high rate of competition. This high rate of competition has led to the nose dive and alternate soaring of different individuals and brands in their career space. Nonetheless, why many blame their hard luck on family, fetish attack and providence, this misadventure may be from a personal factor. One question that should be asked here is WHAT & HOW am I doing what I am doing. Join the webinar: https://lnkd.in/dKBgNGbh You shouldn't miss it. (Strictly for campus students)
