Significance The strong focus on species extinctions, a critical aspect of the contemporary pulse of biological extinction, leads to a common misimpression that Earth’s biota is not immediately threatened, just slowly entering an episode of major biodiversity loss. This view overlooks the current trends of population declines and extinctions. Using a sample of 27,600 terrestrial vertebrate species, and a more detailed analysis of 177 mammal species, we show the extremely high degree of population decay in vertebrates, even in common “species of low concern.” Dwindling population sizes and range shrinkages amount to a massive anthropogenic erosion of biodiversity and of the ecosystem services essential to civilization. This “biological annihilation” underlines the seriousness for humanity of Earth’s ongoing sixth mass extinction event.

This is a paper that describes how the pesticides industry has committed crimes against humanity and ecocide. As the tribunal's website says: "it can ignore the human and environmental damage caused by its products and maintain its devastating activities through a strategy of systemic concealment: by lobbying regulatory agencies and governments, by resorting to lying and corruption, by financing fraudulent scientific studies, by pressuring independent scientists, by manipulating the press and media...etc." Examples of these activities are provided.

This Phytochemical Committee has representatives from all EU Member States. They met on 10/11 December to decide whether to endorse EFSA's conclusions on Glyphosate. The absence of humans from the title suggests that there are no doctors present. Or if there are doctors present, they are ignorant of the fact that plants and humans absorb nutrients via identical shikimate pathways;  the human gut microbiome consists of trillions of bacteria which are poisoned by glyphosate in precisely the same way as plants are poisoned.

Anthony Samsel has discovered how glyphosate, a man-made amino acid, mimics glycine an essential amino acid and becomes incorporated into our bodies to cause many of diseases which have increased in the Western world in those eating a western diet.

This is a response to the European Food Safety Authority EFSA recommending the renewal of glyphosate. There is an introduction; a history of farming with chemicals in the UK; History of chemical regulation in Europe - in the hands of the pesticides industry; Deterioration of health in the UK, the US and Latin America; Loss of biodiversity which correlates with the measurement of chemicals in the environment.

Two papers about the future of the planet are analysed. The first from environmentalists shows that we are already in the sixth extinction and much of it is to do with agriculture. The second from the Rockefeller Foundation-Lancet Commission never mentions chemicals in agriculture.

The European Commission has allowed EFSA to delay the decision on the review of glyphosate until June 2016 (from 2012 when it was supposed to be reviewed.) In March 2015 the World Health Organisation International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) declared glyphosate as a 2A carcinogen (probably carcinogenic in humans), but the Glyphosate Task Force said that it did not accept this classification. However, sealed documents obtained from the US EPA show that Monsanto knew that glyphosate caused cancer, but manipulated the research results. Glyphosate is an endocrine disrupting chemical. EDCs are chemicals, that for example, cause fish to change sex, make girls become sexually mature at about 13 years old, cause a range of endocrine-related cancers, obesity and diabetes.

Monsanto has four patents on glyphosate; as a herbicide, a chelator of minerals (it was previously used to extract minerals from boilers), an antibiotic and an anti-protozoal. Every meal that is consumed in which food contains glyphosate residues, beneficial bacteria will be destroyed.

GMO Crops, Pesticides, Birth Defects, Coral Bleaching and Lies.
In September 2015, WWF Living Blue Planet on the state of the world's oceans was published. In supporting Monsanto's GM Roundup Ready Soy, WWF-US seems to be unaware that glyphosate and other pesticides are responsible for disasters to the environment and human health.

The guidance in the UK for antibiotic use warns about overuse by doctors and vets. Glyphosate has been patented has an antibiotic and a recent scientific paper confirms that glyphosate, dicamba and 2,4-dichloro-phenoxyacetic acid, all herbicides that are common chemicals in use in agriculture, domestic gardens and public places can induce multiple antibiotic resistance phenotype in potential pathogens. The effect occurs upon simultaneous exposure to antibiotics and faster than the lethal effect of antibiotics.

David Cameron's Government buried the Open Letter from America, in which nearly 60 US citizens wrote to the citizens of Britain warning about the hazards  of growing genetically modified (GM) crops. Examples are given of evidence that the BBC allowed biased programmes to be made that supported industry and which did not declare the conflicts of interest of those that appeared.  Complaints to the BBC were dismissed.

I have to thank Carey Gillam for the title of this article. In my discussions with the European Chemicals Agency they had insisted that they only did the harmonised classification of glyphosate. I tried to convince them that a substance that was classified as causing severe eye damage and was toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects shouldn't be allowed on the market, but nevertheless, the European Commission renewed the licence based on ECHA's reassurance that it wasn't a carcinogen.

Niels Bjerre a Danish Bayer representative wrote an article in Weekendavisen, a Danish weekly praising glyphosate. 'Ja tak til pesticider.' I challenged him saying there were six books published recently about Roundup destroying human health and biodiversity. He dismissed them all. He said we had to wait until December 2022 to see whether glyphosate was re-authorised.

Two scientists from the Francis Crick Institute blamed global autoimmune diseases on the western diet.
They said that surging cases of autoimmune diseases across the world meant new treatments and drugs were now urgently needed more than ever before. They didn't realise that there was weedkiller in non-organic food.

Some people die from COVID-19. Obese people with diabetes and a metabolic syndrome are more susceptible. These are associated with consumption of food with pesticides residues. Pesticides are the elephant in the room. The UK media are being paid by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to promote vaccines and not to mention pesticides. The BMGF are funding the agrochemical and pharmaceutical industry. Bill Gates and the Rockefeller Foundation have an agenda to control the world with a vaccine.

Bayer Crop Science is trying to make a decision. Whether to continue fight the 18,000 or so claims from plaintiffs who accuse Monsanto of concealing the fact that Roundup caused cancer...or to settle. Mediation has been arranged. But Roundup causes more than cancer. I have written this document to Bayer shareholders to ask them to stop funding Bayer. The sooner they go out of business, the better.

I am surprised to learn that from the huge number of scientists employed by Defra and Rothamsted Research, not one of them has read the new book by Caius Rommens, former team leader at Monsanto, the creator of GM potatoes who has retracted his research on GM Potatoes. 'Pandora's Potatoes: The Worst GMOs'. It shows an ignorance beyond belief! It just demonstrates how narrow their reading is and how arrogant and brainwashed they have become! Professor Jonathan Jones Group Leader for the Sainsbury Laboratory has worked for Monsanto in the past, so he has massive conflicts of interest. Perhaps their brains have been poisoned by glyphosate-based herbicides, re-authorised by the European Glyphosate Task Force in December 2017 for 5 years!

I wrote to the Editor-in-Chief of the British Medical Journal.
To begin with I would like to clear up a few things that the UK Corporate Media haven’t reported.

On 16 October 2015 Prof Gilles-Eric Séralini was awarded Whistleblower of the Year by German Scientists for his work on GMOs and Glyphosate. Citation: “He was the first to publish animal test results demonstrating the toxic and carcinogenic properties of the most commonly used herbicide worldwide, the glyphosate-based “Roundup” by carrying out a two-year feeding test on rats. After the research was published, Prof Séralini was attacked by a vehement campaign by ‘interested circles’ from the chemical industry as well as the industry-financed British Science Media Centre.” 

Séralini and his co-researchers at CRIIGEN won two cases in the High Court of France.
In 2012 Marianne magazine and its journalist wrote of a “scientific fraud in which the methodology served to reinforce pre-determined results.” Séralini’s team sued for libel and won. Marianne and its journalist were fined for public defamation of a public official and public defamation of the researchers and of CRIIGEN, which is chaired by Dr Joel Spiroux de Vendômois. In 2015 On 25 November 2015, the High Court of Paris indicted Marc Fellous, former chairman of France’s Biomolecular Engineering Commission, for “forgery” and “the use of forgery”, in a libel trial.

How Thatcher and Murdoch made their secret deal
Harold Evans former Editor-in-Chief of the Sunday Times wrote in the Long Read:  “Documents released by the Thatcher Archive Trust, now housed at Churchill College, Cambridge, give the lie to a litany of Murdoch-Thatcher denials about collusion during the bidding for Times Newspapers.
The fact that they met at all, on 4 January 1981, was vehemently denied for 30 years. Since their lie was revealed, it has been possible to uncover how the greatest extension of monopoly power in modern press history was planned and executed with such furtive brilliance.
All the wretches in the subsequent hacking sagas – the predators in the red-tops, the scavengers and sleaze merchants, the blackmailers and bribers, the liars, the bullies, the cowed politicians and the bent coppers – were but the detritus of a collapse of integrity in British journalism and political life. At the root of the cruelties and extortions exposed in the recent criminal trials at the Old Bailey, was Margaret Thatcher’s reckless engorgement of the media power of her guest that January Sunday. The simple genesis of the hacking outrages is that Murdoch’s News International came to think it was above the law, because it was. …Murdoch was able to acquire both publications in 1981 only because he began making solemn pledges that he would maintain the tradition of independence. He broke every one of those promises in the first years.”

Monsanto’s sealed secret studies obtained under FOI from the US EPA
A Senior Monsanto scientist had claimed that glyphosate didn’t accumulate but was excreted unchanged from the body and referred back to the glyphosate re-assessment in Europe in 2002. However, Monsanto’s secret studies revealed otherwise.

The Federal Agency supplied these documents to Anthony Samsel under FOI with special consideration for his research into glyphosate
Samsel and Seneff wrote paper IV on Glyphosate: Glyphosate, pathways to modern diseases IV: cancer and related pathologies and concluded that: “significant evidence of tumours was found during these investigations”. Ridley and Mirly (1988) (for Monsanto) found bioaccumulation of 14 C- labelled glyphosate in Sprague Dawley rat tissues. Residues were present in bone, marrow, blood and glands including the thyroid, testes and ovaries, as well as major organs, including the heart, liver, lungs, kidneys, spleen and stomach (Table 11 Page 127). “Glyphosate is a synthetic amino acid and analogue of our canonical amino acid glycine and participates in plant and animal biology. Glyphosate has recently been found to integrate with structural proteins as well as animal i.e. human enzymes that include digestive enzymes pepsin, trypsin and lipase as well as lysozyme.”
Samsel says: “The fact that glyphosate integrates with human enzymes should be reason enough to ban this chemical completely. There should be no glyphosate or glufosinate in the food supply nor in drinking water, air or soil. Glyphosate is a synthetic amino acid that should have no place in biology.
We are but one biosphere, what affects one affects all.”

In 2019, a large-scale survey from Switzerland of house sparrows feathers reveals ubiquitous presence of neonicotinoids in farmlands.
“We quantified neonicotinoids in 146 feather samples of house sparrows living on organic, integrated-production and conventional farms using UHPLC-MS/MS.
All samples were positive for neonicotinoids.
Thiacloprid was the most prevalent (99% of samples) and clothianidin attained the highest levels (up to 131.4 ppb).
Feathers of birds living on conventional farms showed higher concentrations than in the other farms.
Our results highlight the extent to which farmland birds are exposed to neonicotinoids, and hence the extent of contamination of our agroecosystems.”
