PARIS — Zodiak Rights has closed a flurry of sales on “WikiLeaks: War, Lies and Videotape” at Mip TV, which wrapped Thursday in Cannes.

A one-hour investigative docu, “WikiLeaks” was nabbed by Current TV in the U.S., Discovery Channel U.K., Discovery Europe and Africa, ABC in Australia, NDR in Germany and TV4 in Sweden.

Previous sales include TSR in Switzerland, RTBF in Belgium, Z1TV in Czech Republic, MTV in Finland and TVP in Poland.

The docu, which aired this week on French pubcaster France 5, is produced by Paris-based press agency Premieres Lignes in co-production with Franco-German net Arte and cable channel LCP Assemblee Nationale.

Helmed by Luc Hermann and Paul Moreira, docu goes behind the scenes at WikiLeaks, from July 2010 to January 2011, and probes the methods and motives of its founder Julian Assange and his team. Docu boasts an interview with Assange’s estranged former collaborator at WikiLeaks Daniel Domscheit-Berg. Alexandre Piel, Zodiak Rights’ Paris-based head of fiction, documentary acquisition and co-production, said Zodiak Rights had a good market in terms of sales, even though he noticed that Mip TV had become less important than Mipcom, which takes place in October in Cannes.
