Virus Mania: How the Medical Industry Continually Invents Epidemics, Making Billion-Dollar Profits At Our Expense Paperback – September 19, 2007

4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars 191 ratings

A daily scan through the news gives the impression that the world is constantly invaded by virus epidemics. The latest headlines feature the human papillomavirus (HPV) alleged to cause cervical cancer and the avian flu virus, H5N1. The public is also continually terrorized by reports about SARS, BSE, hepatitis C, AIDS, Ebola, and polio. However, this virus mayhem ignores very basic scientific facts: the existence, the pathogenicity and the deadly effects of these agents have never been proven. The authors of Virus Mania, journalist Torsten Engelbrecht and doctor of internal medicine Claus Köhnlein, show that these alleged contagious agents are, in fact, particles produced by the cells themselves as a consequence of certain stress factors such as drugs, malnutrition, pesticides and heavy metals.

The central aim of this book is to steer the discussion back to a real scientific debate and put medicine back on the path of an impartial analysis of the facts. It will put medical experiments, clinical trials, statistics and government policies under the microscope, revealing that the people charged with protecting our health and safety have deviated from this path. To substantiate these statements, the authors cite dozens of highly renowned scientists and present approximately 1,100 pertinent scientific references.

The topic of this book is of pivotal significance. The pharmaceutical companies and top scientists rake in enormous sums of money by attacking germs and the media boosts its audience ratings and circulations with sensationalized reporting (the coverage of the New York Times and Der Spiegel are specifically analyzed). "The primary purpose of commercially-funded clinical research is to maximize financial return on investment, not health," says John Abramson of Harvard Medical School. Virus Mania will inform you on how such an environment took root-and how to empower yourself for a healthy life.

The book is an excellent book I bought it back in 2020 when all of this crap-0-la with this Plan--Demic lockdowns and mask craziness was first starting in huge masses with tons of 24/7 news and fear-porn. So, the book was extremely helpful AND packed with the truth within the world of lies around us.

What I do not like is that I wanted (today in 2022/June) to buy a few copies to give to friends and family. In 2020 I paid about $20.00 for this excellent book/read, now it is out of my budget for one copy let alone 4 or 5 copies. Priced around $50.00 -VERY UNCOOL-

Virus mania is a social disease of our highly developed society. To cure it will require conquering fear, fear being the most-deadly contagious virus, most efficiently transmitted by the media … to err is human, but to preserve an error is diabolic” – Etienne de Harven, MD, in forward to book.

Before the Coronavirus Panic was instigated in the U.S., Claus Kohnlein, M.D., Kiel, Germany, together with journalist Torsten Engelbrecht, wrote a book in 2007 “Virus Mania: How the Medical Industry Invents Epidemics Making Billion Dollar Profits at our Expense”. This book is not only prophetic but unassailable with 836 footnotes in 266 pages.
This book will make most people mad who have lost businesses and jobs regarding the overkill governmental responses to the so-called virus epidemic.

Kohnlein investigates in his book SARS Coronavirus, AIDs, Hepatitis C, Avian Flu and Polio and found there is no scientific basis that they are caused by a virus.

What Virus?

Kohnlein makes it clear from the start that modern medicine is still in the Dark Ages when it comes to virus epidemics. The cause of the so-called epidemic is only conjectured to be virus from indirect antibodies that are “unspecific” in determining virus as the cause. Antibodies are a sort of footprint but of what is still unknown according to Kohniein. He states that viruses may be self-produced for all we know at this time.

Kohnlein says that identifying the exact virus by a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test but nobody has reported an electron microscope view of the “so-called produced virus”. There are electron microscope views of the six types of coronavirus but the coronavirus is also the common cold.

Kohniein’s book doesn’t deny that people get sick “although many are not really sick at all, but are only defined as sick, and then are made sick or killed” he says.

Being completely germ free says Kohnlein results in death. He indicates that epidemic health policies are based on a flawed “Germ Theory” of Louis Pasteur that is used to exploit fear. In contrast, the Terrain Theory (soil theory) of Antoine Bechamp is more accurate but never used by policy makers. According the Terrain Theory, the immune system has to be fertile soil for a virus, bacteria or influenza to proliferate or trigger an autoimmune reaction that can kill. Kohnlein sees virus testing as like “trying to say someone has bad breath by looking at his fingerprint”.
The Germ Theory is favored by government says Kohnlein because “it prefers that man perish than change their habits”, which help politicians appease certain groups.

In a separate online interview Kohnlein cites a Lancet Journal case study of how doctors over-prescribe medications and treatments so they can’t be legally blamed for doing nothing about the bogeyman coronavirus, but this kills the patient. He says the medical protocol for treating the alleged coronavirus, published in the February 18, 2020 issue of the prestigious Lancet Journal at the onset of the virus panic, is malpractice. The authors of that study were connected with the School of Health Sciences at Wuhan University, China.

He further said:

“Politicians are in the same position (as doctors) and that is why they are overreacting, because they would lose their positions if they did too little. If they implemented all measures, as they have so far, then they would have hindered an epidemic that probably was never there in the first place”.

Secretiveness

According to Kohnlein, bureaucracy (“the deep state”) is ruled by “secretiveness” that uses a “self-produced” epidemic emergency as cover for its “privilege granting, lack of accountability, blatant lack of monitoring” and overkill medical protocols. Supporting this is a “quasi-religion” that invents its own false-positive markers for disease, its own self-serving theory of germs and a false belief in a “magic bullet” of vaccinations that are too late, don’t work and can kill.

Fear

This is not a quack book written by those on the political fringe or with a political agenda. It was written in Europe with a focus on US health policies. Joachim Mutter, MD, Freiberg, Germany, writes in the forward to the book “…most of the epidemics presented in the media as horror stories (flu, Avian Flu, AIDS, BSE, Hepatitis C, etc.) do not actually exist or are harmless”. Etienne de Harven, MD, Professor Emeritus, University of Toronto, also writes in the forward: “We are not witnessing epidemics; we are witnessing epidemics of fear. And both the media and the pharmaceutical industry carry most of the responsibility for amplifying fears, fears that happen, incidentally, to always ignite fantastically profitable business”.

I am for having conversations that are not often had. I am for listening to folks who do not get airtime on our television screens because the advertisement engine would not support. I am for looking back on history and learning lessons that are too easily forgotten. I am for science that is humble and never "settled." I am for debate and inquiry and new ideas that challenge my own.

This book has been a gift in that regard and I recommend it to anyone who is curious about epidemics, pandemics, virology, germ theory, health, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, media, and fear. This book has given me so much to think about and reading it during the Coronavirus pandemic has been jaw dropping. This book was published in 2007 and its insights for 2020 could not be more relevant. I encourage folks to bring this book back into our regular dialogue and discussion because I think it has much to offer us today - namely that fear and mania tend to cloud logical, sound judgement.

I can't recommend this book enough. I've been searching and searching for the truth behind the medical community's lies. And here it is, in a well written, well supported book. There are literally pages of references to studies and so on corroborating the evidence put forth. It all makes much more sense than the garbage that has been spread for many years that is supporting the big companies making money off our stupidity. The only book I've read that I would recommend more would be the bible...haha, but that's a religious preference...this book is pure fact based science and it refutes the non-sense spread by all these uneducated people who just spout off, "it's science, it's fact" and get incredibly outraged when you question their health system, vaccines, or any of the rest of it. That's my 2 cents on the book. It's amazing, you won't regret reading it.

I can’t believe this book has so few reviews. It exposes the unscientific basis to the modern infectious disease theory. When it comes to understanding of what causes disease and how to treat it, we are still living in the Middle Ages, and those doctors who think differently from the mainstream theories, are ridiculed and silenced at the expense of people’s health. Even today we are not immune to the psychology of a witch hunt, which spreads from ignorance and deceit, wether it’s hunting for invisible enemies that no one has seen even with an electron microscope, or for the “infected” people. And we are seeing the same dynamics at play today with the Coronavirus. This book provides evidence to the propagation of lies in the modern medical “science” - and it shows that most of the medical discoveries and theories fail to follow the scientific method, hence they cannot be termed scientific.

This book explains that viruses are all around us and not as deadly as we are all led to believe. It's all about our immune systems, as some peoples is poor working and others like mine is great. I take herbals everyday and a very clean diet and each winter i take extras. garlic, echinecea , elderberry, vit c and d, ginger, honey, herbal broths and steams when the 1st sign of a cold or throat.
This book talks about who makes money and how the medical science has been corrupted. We knew eh?
Natural means it the way to detox the body of chemicals and heavy metals and we all have them now, because of all the vaccines the kids have now, our kids in the UK around 53 some 6 in 1 shots now all their brains are struggling. The terrain is everything we can overcome the viruses. That's why africa does so badly as they are poor and don't have good foods also their water is full of parasites etc, cleanse and detox with fresh herbs and fruits, these are the healers.

5.0 out of 5 stars A properly recherched book, recommended for a more balanced opinion in the current discussion
Reviewed in Germany on March 15, 2020
Just about a third in but captured. To be honest, a book with over 1150 citations on 250 pages does one thing that is lacking quite often in books, verify its claims. I've checked a few of the relevant citations and they are true, relevant and state what is claimed. So far so good. Particulary with view to the current hysteria an interesting read.

5.0 out of 5 stars How mainstream science omits a holistic approach to solving disease
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 20, 2021
So much common sense is left out of how to stay healthy. This book shines light on big pharma’s approach in trying to solve disease in the world but massively fails to look at how or except that a holistic approach to health is a must. When natural environments are unbalanced, when our internal flora is damaged through processed foods, antibiotics and excessive drug taking, including tobacco and alcohol we can expect nothing else but illness. Throwing licensed drugs into the mix clearly compounds the problem and this book intelligently points that out.
