I was happy with The Local last year, but somehow this year the app is a frustrating reading experience due to the constant article refresh when I switch apps, even if by mistake for 1 second. Also notification settings really don't work. Not to mention I miss getting newsletters for the major news and daily recap. For those reasons I am reluctant to renew my subscription as I feel the brand is getting abandoned

I'm a Swedish resident. In the past I've paid for membership - while within Sweden - directly to you - not using google pay. I'm currently in the USA and attempted to buy a membership + for access to your newsletter and podcasts. I used this Local app to make the payment with my Swedish Visa card and it went through, but it went through with the google play app based in the USA. I cannot access membership features. Google won't refund. Please investigate. Thanx

When the new website launched with a font that hurt my eyes, I had to give up on The Local - it's a shame they didn't do more accessibility testing. Then I remembered the app. Which is far easier on my eyes! Unfortunately there's not the same range of articles within the app as the website, but better than nothing. 30/6/2023 - I was really excited to see that more articles would be available on the app! Only they've rolled it out with the same font. And no dark mode or accessibility options :(
