Tanaya Beatty (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1), Stephen Hill, Creed Garnick (Vanya And Sonia And Masha And Spike) and Aidan Kahn are the latest to join the cast of HBO miniseries Lewis And Clark. Based on the book Undaunted Courage, by Stephen E. Ambrose, it tells the story of America’s first contact with the land and native tribes of the country west of the Mississippi River. Production is slated to begin this summer.
The miniseries follows the epic journey of the Corps of Discovery and its captains, Meriwether Lewis (Casey Affleck) and William Clark (Matthias Schoenaerts), who traverse uncharted territory on a mission to deliver President Jefferson’s message of sovereignty as they search for his fabled all-water route to the Pacific.
Beatty will play Sacagawea, young woman of the Lemhi-Shoshone tribe, who became an interpreter for the expedition. Hill, repped by Francesca Francois-Grimaldi at Plaza 7 Talent Agency, is York, William Clark’s life-long slave companion and a member of the expedition. Garnick and Kahn are members of the Corps of Discovery; Garnick, repped by Industry Entertainment and Don Buchwald & Assoc., plays William Bratton, and Kahn is Gibson.
