What's in the box

  • Large Padded Shoulder Strap - 4 Removable Pouches
  • Product Description

The black and gray with orange webbing CB01A Production Bag from CineBags now replaces the older CB01 version. It remains a padded waterproof material shoulder bag made to carry production accessories but is a bit larger than its predecessor. The bag has four removable interior pouches for carrying most of the accessories you need for production in the field. The additional four non-removable exterior zippered pouches also hold small items such as adapters, tools or a phone. An additional improvement is that the outside pouches now have zippers rather than the previous touch fastened style. The bag has a reinforced bottom rail for ground protection in foul weather. The bag is made from a reflective waterproof material with an oversized zipper for easier access. There are dual center carry handles and an improved large shoulder strap made with an anti-slip fabric.

I have used CineBags since they first came out, and they have continued to get better. This latest version of the production bag is a bit larger than the previous one, though nowhere near as large as the original ones. However, it seems as sturdy and rigid as the previous generation (the original, larger ones, tended to get a little floppy and sloppy - maybe part of the reason that they downsized them). In any case, my Panasonic AC130/160 fits perfectly in this bag, where the previous generation seemed just a tad to small to provide good protection. I often stack my camera and audio bags, so i was unsatisfied with the older version, which had the camera handle in contact with the top of the bag; this current version has enough clearance that nothing presses on the camera.

The new outside pockets - zippered rather than velcro-closing - are spacious, but may be a little more difficult to use - I often find that dangling straps get tin the way of the zippers, especially when I'm holding something (usually a camera) in one hand and trying to get something out with the other. The top handles similarley are a little awkward at times... BUT I LOVE THEM! A much needed addition to the bag... especially when loading the car/truck, or walking through narrow spaces, the ability to hold the bag by the top handles for better maneuverability is priceless.

So, I'd prefer a combination of old velcro outside pockets with the new size, design, and top handles; but as that does not exist, I'd choose the current bag. Maybe Markus will figure out a way to improve the zipper/strap interactions in future models. But Keep in mind that I'm just comparing older and newer CineBags and nitpicking; all the CineBags have been superior to other options, especially to someone who wants to stack equipment. They offer great protection, flexible storage, and impressive quality. Because of the top handles, this is my top choice among the cinebags I've owned!

Wow, amazing design and functionality, at first I was not sure if it was the bag for me but I said to myself I won't know until I'm able to analyze the bag itself, well thank god, I did, I believe is the perfect size for my equipment. I was able to fit 2 led lights, 1 nikon 3300 camera, 1 Panasonic HD camera, 1 external flash for camera, 1 rocket blower to remove dust, my Samsung note pro 12.2, my external microphone, and many misc items, it is heavy to be honest after all my items are inside but what else do I expect, you pay a price for everything but at least I know I have everything I need in one bag and peace of mind that everything is organized and well protected.

I used to keep all my Assistant Camera (AC) gear in a small Husky tool bag, but it was always overflowing and I found it hard to dig out the gear I needed. I bought this bag after a recommendation from Evan Luzi on his "The Black and Blue" blog, and I'm VERY happy I did. The front pouch is great for holding my slate and other "flat" things. The inside has two removable pouches that I use to keep some equipment separated, but easy to grab and go. The area in the middle fills up with zip-pouches (not included, purchased seperately) fill with misc supplies, and my AC pouch/belt. I now have everything I need for the gig, in ONE bag. The shoulder strap is definitely a "glad they included it" necessity. Once it's loaded up, it can get pretty heavy. It has a solid build, and if it's reputation is correct, it'll be with me for many years... I look forward to it.

As a working DP this bag is a life saver.

I have this bag packed to the brim with everything I need or might need as a working professional. My ACs and fellow crew love this bag on set. I have everything I need to tackle any shoot or problems that may arise on set.

This bag is just large enough to fit everything you need while still being portable. It is very sturdy and well built. The pros at Cinebags have put a lot of effort into this bag and figuring out where you will want to store your gear. Absolutely worth the small cost for an amazing bag to last you years and years.

This is my second ditty bag that replaced the old one that fell apart from many years of usage. I love this bag there are tons of pockets and compartments to help hold and organize my on set tools. The only thing I would change would be to add a zipper at the front of the main compartment to help make it more secure for checking on airlines the Velcro closure could be pulled open and dump some tools if flipped upside down. Having said that I still love it and would buy another one.

I bought the CB01 two years ago, and when it arrived, none of the zippers worked. I could get the exterior ones to stay closed but the ones inside on the lid would stay open. This is extremely poor manufacturing for a supposed professional product. Anyway, I contacted Cinebags right away and they said that they would send me a new one if I shipped back the old one - a two week process. Well, set-life is very unforgiving and I regrettably put all my stuff in it and started using it for jobs the next day. After two years of arguing and agreeing to allow them to charge my credit card for a full bag, they finally sent me a new CB01A so I could transfer my stuff, then send the defective bag back. The new bag seemed to be just as poorly made, but the zippers worked. I was pleased until I went to send the broken one back to Cinebag and I realized they didn’t give a return shipping label. Contacted Cinebag and they said to take care of it myself. Cinebag might be the popular kid on the block, but the product is lacking in quality and has no customer service behind it. If you’re looking for a bag that will take the abuse of your crazy adventures, you’re looking in the wrong place.

    ***EDIT***

Cinebags sent me a replacement bag, it too was defective. The velcro for the main compartment wasn't sewn on completely. I'm sure it will come off completely with use. AVOID THIS BAG!
