Introduction of the RCIT: Below we republish an important call from Palestinian trade unionists. They urge trade unions and popular organisations around the world to take action against Isarel’s war machinery which is slaughtering thousands of Palestinian civilians. The RCIT unconditionally supports this call. Since many years we have supported the movement for the boycott of the Israeli Apartheid state. Now – as it is committing unspeakable war crimes and tries to expel the Palestinian people from Gaza – such international solidarity is even more urgent!

Palestinian trade unions call on workers everywhere: Stop arming Israel and end all complicity!
Palestinian trade unions issue an urgent global call to action, calling on workers everywhere to halt the sale and funding of arms to Israel — and related military research.
Call to Action
Israel has demanded that 1.1 million Palestinians evacuate the northern half of Gaza, whilst subjecting them to constant bombardment. This ruthless move is part of Israel's plan, backed by unwavering support and active participation from the US and majority of European states, to carry out unprecedented and heinous massacres against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza and to ethnically cleanse it altogether. Since Saturday Israel has indiscriminately and intensively bombarded Gaza, and cut off fuel, electricity, water, food, and medical supplies. Israel has killed more than 2,700 Palestinians - including 614 children - leveling whole neighbourhoods, wiping out entire families and injuring more than 10,000 people. Some international law experts have begun warning of Israel’s genocidal acts.
Elsewhere, Israel’s far-right government has distributed more than 10,000 rifles to extremist settlers in ‘48 Palestine and the occupied West Bank to facilitate their escalating attacks and pogroms against Palestinians. Israel’s actions, massacres, and rhetoric point to its intention to implement its long promised second Nakba, expelling as many Palestinians as possible and creating a ‘New Middle East’ in which Palestinians live in perpetual subjugation.
The response by Western states has been one of complete and total support for the State of Israel, without even a cursory nod towards international law. This has amplified Israel impunity, giving it carte blanche to carry out its genocidal war without limit. Beyond diplomatic support, Western states are supplying Israel with armament, sanctioning the operation of Israeli weapons companies within their borders.
As Israel escalates its military campaign, Palestinian trade unions call on our counterparts internationally and all people of conscience to end all forms of complicity with Israel’s crimes - most urgently halting the arms trade with Israel, as well as all funding and military research. The time for action is now - Palestinian lives hang in the balance.
This urgent, genocidal situation can only be prevented by a mass increase of global solidarity with the people of Palestine and that can restrain the Israeli war machine. We need you to take immediate action - wherever you are in the world - to prevent the arming of the Israeli state and the companies involved in the infrastructure of the blockade. We take inspiration from previous mobilisations by trade unions in Italy, South Africa and the United States, and similar international mobilisations against the Italian invasion of Ethiopia in the 1930s, the fascist dictatorship in Chile in the 1970s and elsewhere where global solidarity limited the extent of colonial brutality.
We are calling on trade unions in relevant industries:
- To refuse to build weapons destined for Israel.
- To refuse to transport weapons to Israel.
- To pass motions in their trade union to this effect.
- To take action against complicit companies involved in implementing Israel’s brutal and illegal siege, especially if they have contracts with your institution.
- Pressure governments to stop all military trade with Israel, and in the case of the US, funding to it.
We make this call as we see attempts to ban and silence all forms of solidarity with the Palestinian people. We ask you to speak out and take action in the face of injustice as trade unions have done historically. We make this call in the belief that the struggle for Palestinian justice and liberation is not only a regionally and globally determined struggle. It is a lever for the liberation of all dispossessed and exploited people of the world.

Llamado urgente de los sindicatos palestinos: pongan fin a toda complicidad y dejen de armar a Israel

Introducción de la CCRI: A continuación publicamos un importante llamamiento de los sindicalistas palestinos. Instan a los sindicatos y organizaciones populares de todo el mundo a tomar medidas contra la maquinaria de guerra de Israel que está masacrando a miles de civiles palestinos. La CCRI apoya incondicionalmente este llamamiento. Desde hace muchos años apoyamos el movimiento por el boicot al Estado de Apartheid israelí. Ahora –mientras está cometiendo crímenes de guerra atroces e intenta expulsar al pueblo palestino de Gaza– ¡esa solidaridad internacional es aún más urgente!

Los sindicatos palestinos hacen un llamado a lxs trabajadorxs de todo el mundo: ¡Dejen de armar a Israel y pongan fin a toda complicidad!
Los sindicatos palestinos lanzan un urgente llamado mundial a la acción, pidiendo a lxs trabajadorxs de todo el mundo que detengan la venta y financiación de armas a Israel, así como la investigación militar relacionada.
Llamado a la acción
Israel ha exigido que 1,1 millones de palestinxs evacuen la mitad norte de Gaza, al tiempo que lxs somete a constantes bombardeos. Esta medida cruel forma parte del plan de Israel, respaldado por el apoyo inquebrantable y la participación activa de los Estados Unidos y la mayoría de los Estados europeos, para llevar a cabo masacres atroces y sin precedentes contra 2,3 millones de palestinxs en Gaza y limpiarla étnicamente por completo. Desde el sábado, Israel ha bombardeado Gaza de forma indiscriminada e intensiva y ha cortado el suministro de combustible, electricidad, agua, alimentos y medicinas. Israel ha asesinado a más de 2.700 palestinxs —entre ellos 614 niñxs— arrasando barrios enteros, aniquilando familias enteras e hiriendo a más de 10.000 personas. Algunxs expertxs en derecho internacional han empezado a advertir de los actos genocidas de Israel.
En otros lugares el gobierno de extrema derecha de Israel ha distribuido más de 10.000 fusiles a colonxs extremistas en la Palestina del 1948 y la Cisjordania ocupada para facilitar su escalada de ataques y pogromos contra lxs palestinxs. Las acciones, masacres y retórica de Israel apuntan a su intención de poner en práctica su largamente prometida segunda Nakba, expulsando al mayor número posible de palestinxs y creando un "Nuevo Medio Oriente " en el que lxs palestinxs vivan sometidxs perpetuamente.
La respuesta de los Estados occidentales ha sido de apoyo total y absoluto al Estado de Israel, sin siquiera un gesto de respeto al derecho internacional. Esto ha ampliado la impunidad de Israel, dándole carta blanca para llevar a cabo su guerra genocida sin límites. Más allá del apoyo diplomático, los Estados occidentales suministran armamento a Israel, sancionando el funcionamiento de empresas armamentísticas israelíes dentro de sus fronteras.
Mientras Israel intensifica su campaña militar, los sindicatos palestinos hacemos un llamado a nuestros homólogos internacionales y a todas las personas de conciencia para que pongan fin a todas las formas de complicidad con los crímenes de Israel, deteniendo urgentemente el comercio de armas con Israel, así como toda financiación e investigación militar. Ha llegado el momento de actuar: las vidas de lxs palestinxs están en juego.
Esta situación urgente y genocida sólo puede evitarse mediante un aumento masivo de la solidaridad mundial con el pueblo de Palestina, que pueda frenar la maquinaria de guerra israelí. Necesitamos que ustedes tomen medidas inmediatas —dondequiera que se encuentren en el mundo— para impedir el armamento del Estado israelí y de las empresas implicadas en la infraestructura del bloqueo. Nos inspiramos en movilizaciones anteriores de sindicatos en Italia, Sudáfrica y Estados Unidos, y en movilizaciones internacionales similares contra la invasión italiana de Etiopía en los años 30, la dictadura fascista en Chile en los 70 y en otros lugares donde la solidaridad mundial limitó el alcance de la brutalidad colonial.
Hacemos un llamado a los sindicatos de las industrias pertinentes a:
- Negarse a construir armas destinadas a Israel.
- Negarse a transportar armas a Israel.
- Aprobar mociones en su sindicato en este sentido.
- Tomar medidas contra las empresas cómplices implicadas en la aplicación del asedio brutal e ilegal de Israel, especialmente si tienen contratos con su institución.
- Presionar a los gobiernos para que pongan fin a todo comercio militar con Israel y, en el caso de Estados Unidos, a su financiación.
Hacemos este llamado al ver que se intenta prohibir y silenciar toda forma de solidaridad con el pueblo palestino. Les pedimos que se pronuncien y actúen frente a la injusticia, como han hecho históricamente los sindicatos. Hacemos este llamado con la convicción de que la lucha por la justicia y la liberación palestinas no es sólo una lucha determinada a escala regional y mundial. Es una plataforma para la liberación de todos los pueblos desposeídos y explotados del mundo.
