Pathology has always been regarded a cornerstone of medicine that links the basic disciplines with clinical subjects.

Pathology has advanced from being an entirely morphological and descriptive subject to one that deals with the most advanced research and is at the forefront of research in molecular pathology and cancer, aiming to elucidate the molecular basis of disease.

The Department of Pathology at TAU is multi- disciplinary combining state-of-the-art pre-clinical research at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, with clinical pathology performed by our clinical faculty members at the affiliated hospitals.

The basic research in the department is focused on understanding of pathological processes in various contexts, aiming for the development of novel therapeutics.

The department offers a variety of research projects for BSc, MSc and PhD students, as well as thesis projects for MD students.

Faculty members in the department coordinate and teach courses in General Pathology and related topics to both medical and graduate students, in programs of the four-year track, six-year track, School of Dentistry, and B.Sc. program (joint School of Medicine-Life Science program). The department also teaches students studying physiotherapy, communication disorders, and nursing.

we are committed to excellent research and to educating the next generation of health care providers and biomedical scientists for success in their field.

Our main offices are located on the fourth floor of the Sackler School of Medicine where the chairperson, administrative staff and research laboratories are located. Additional research laboratories are located in TAU-affiliated hospitals.
