Actually, this book was given to me as a gift and during a recent move it was misplaced. I went to Amazon to see if I could purchase it to replace the one that was lost. I collect books and I wanted this book to stay as part of my collection. Definately a great book to own.

The actual content of the book itself is, I believe, unparalleled in my extensive experience reading Egyptology. In other words, it is a fantastic reading. I purchased this book to replace my existing copy of it. Why (?) My existing copy was not bound well at all. Then, I got the reordered book and it was bound even worse (!) I believe this publication has issues in its quality of binding.

Nice book. No issues shipping and came in great condition.

...& that is why this book gets 4 stars instead of 5, even though it's full of historical info & 100's of beautiful color photos. Besides, the authors maintain that the pyramids were originally built as burial tombs for the pharoahs, & we know that's not true. Otherwise, I won't fault the book.

Anything you want to know about Ancient Egypt, its' history, etc., is in this book. Not only is the written history of Ancient Egypt in this book, but there is absolutely gorgeous photography as well. I highly recommend this book.

An excellent book. Rich with illustration and meaningful text. Not just a shallow exploration of the subject, yet arranged cleanly like an encyclopedia.
