Background:
The former Cheltenham Town goalkeeper signed a two year deal with Wanderers on Tuesday 26th July 2016. The 31 year old made close to 300 appearances for The Robins during a nine year spell before spending the two years prior to his move to Adams Park at Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen. A former trainee with Wolves who had spells with Welshpool Town and Bristol City before making his senior debut with Cheltenham in January 2006.

Commenting at the time of the signing, Wycombe Manager Gareth Ainsworth said: "Its no secret that we were on the lookout for a keeper and Im sure Scott will play a big part in continuing the defensive resilience that weve built up over the last two years. He has terrific experience at this level, and in the top flight in Scottish football, and hes an important acquisition for us."

Injured during his League debut for Wanderers on the opening day of the 2016/17 season and then kept out of the side following the loan signing of Jamal Blackman from Chelsea. Loaned to Conference side Eastleigh in November 2016 but returned to Wanderers the following month, making two First Team appearances in December 2016 to cover for an injured Blackman before being loaned to former club Cheltenham Town for the remainder of that season.

In complete contrast to 2016/17, the following season saw Brown ever-present in the League during Wanderers promotion winning season. He was substituted with 25 minutes remaining of the final game of the season in what turned out to be a farewell gesture from Manager Gareth Ainsworth - his release being announced on 10th May 2018.

Commenting on his departure, Ainsworth said: "Scott was very honest and explained that hes had interest from elsewhere which better suits his home life and enables him to be closer to his family. Hes had a fantastic season for us and will always be fondly remembered not just as one of the clubs promotion-winning heroes, but as a hugely popular guy with his team-mates and with the fans. He will go on to do a brilliant job for another club and he leaves us with nothing less than our very best wishes and our heartfelt thanks for everything hes contributed to Wycombe Wanderers. It was announced on 14th May 2018 that he would join League Two side Port Vale on a two year deal.
