Harding waves farewell to Hi-5

Updated November 12, 2007 11:31:00

Hi-5 have had another permanent cast change, with Tim Harding deciding not to rejoin the group.

His departure is a result of problems arising from a serious motorbike accident in June.

It left him with multiple injuries, including a fracture spine and two broken feet. He was confined to a wheelchair for six weeks.

Understudy Stevie Nicholson will fill Harding's position on the popular children's TV show.

"I've had an incredible journey with Hi-5, one I will always cherish," Harding said in a statement.

"It has been the greatest honour and privilege to work with such an immensely talented group of people.

"I hope Stevie feels welcome and will have as much fun as I have over the last nine years."

Kathleen de Leon Jones left the group earlier this year following the birth of her first child.
