New look Hi-5 says hi to Sunrise

A new-look Hi-5 appeared on Sunrise on Monday morning to promote an upcoming DVD.

Understudy Stevie Nicholson was there, replacing retiring member Tim Harding. Harding has left the group following a motorcycle accident in June which leaves him unable to keep up the high energy routines required.

But Channel Nine boss David Gyngell was said to be fuming about the Nine stars appearing on the Seven Network.

According to news.com.au, Sunrise producer Adam Boland said they chose to appear on a program, “where they would be seen by many more families and children and not just grandma and grandpa.” Ouch.

Nine’s Today show was said to have postponed an appearance until December.

Naturally Nine quipped back that it was great to see “a competing network chose to promote one of Channel 9’s key properties.”

All’s fair in love and kids’ TV?
