Eastleigh have signed Wycombe Wanderers goalkeeper Scott Brown on a short term loan for an initial twenty eight days.

Following the injury in training to number one choice Ryan Clarke en route to Gateshead last Friday, Scott has been drafted into the squad to reinforce a highly specialised area.

31 year old Brown started his career with his home town Club Wolverhampton Wanderers then going on to play in the Welsh League for Welshpool Town. A spell with Bristol City then followed before a stint at Cheltenham Town with 249 appearances.

Scott then moved North to play in the Scottish Premiership with Aberdeen making a further thirty eight appearances before signing for Wycombe Wanderers in July of this year.

Scott then sustained an injury on the first day of the season which has kept him sidelined for three months. Wycombe Wanderers Manager  Gareth Ainsworth swooped to bring Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman to the club and his impressive form has seen him retain number 1 status, with Scott’s only recent appearance coming in the Checkatrade Trophy clash with Coventry City.

Ainsworth said: “Scott needs games to get himself back to full match sharpness and this loan period will give him that opportunity, at a really competitive level in the National League and working under a very good manager in Ronnie Moore. He’s an experienced player and he understands that Jamal has earned the right to keep his place in goal for us at this moment in time.”

The loan deal includes an immediate recall clause and does not permit Scott to feature in Eastleigh’s FA Cup fixtures.
