Scott is young goalkeeper with a growing reputation who spent his early career on the books of his home town club Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he was coached by the former Cheltenham Town management team of John Ward and Keith Downing.
He left Wolves in 2003 and played briefly in the Welsh Premier League for Welshpool Town before spending six months with Bristol City.
The son of a professional tennis coach, Scott spent the first 18 months of his time with Cheltenham Town as understudy to Shane Higgs. An injury to Higgs resulted in a first team debut for Scott in the FA Cup third round match at home to Chester City during the 2005-06 campaign.
He helped the club's reserve team to attain back-to-back championships of the Pontins Holidays Combination Wales and West Division and produced a string of assured performances, in place of the injured Higgs, during the nerve-jangling end to the 2006-07 season when the Robins achieved League One survival with one match to spare.
the 2007/08 season saw Scott confined to the bench throughout the entire campaign, unable to dislodge the magnificent Shane Higgs from the number one position, although his performances as back-up goalkeeper were impressive enough to earn a new two year contract with the club.
Circumstances changed dramatically for Scott during November 2008 when fellow keeper Shane Higgs decided to opt to move, on-loan, away from the club. Scott quickly grasped the opportunity to establish himself as the team's No.1 choice keeper and despite the Robins fighting a season long battle against relegation he put in some tremendous performances.
