Man dies in crash on Sydney's Northern Beaches

A man has died in a car crash on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree on Mona Vale Road in Terrey Hills about 8.50am today.
Drivers are facing major delays with one of two lanes closed in each direction on Mona Vale Road near Cooyong Road.

The driver was the sole occupant of the car. He is yet to be formally identified.
The Wakehurst Parkway also closed due to flooding, creating further chaos for people travelling to the city from the Northern Beaches area.
Severe weather conditions are continuing to affect roads and public transport across many parts of the state.
Sydney and Hunter passengers and motorists are being urged to work from home and avoid any unnecessary travel in flood-affected areas.

Train lines between Sydney and Newcastle have been impacted and major roads and transport routes to Western Sydney have also been closed due to flooding and wet weather.
