Port Vale supporters have voted Scott Brown as their keeper of the decade.

We asked fans for their views as we put together a select team of the last ten years.

First up was the choice of keeper - and that was one of the toughest categories with Brown, Jak Alnwick and Chris Neal selected for the shortlist.

But Brown gets it with 44 per cent of the vote, ahead of Neal on 30 per cent and Jak Alnwick on 26 per cent.

The vote reflects Brown's huge contribution since he joined the Vale on a free transfer from Wycombe Wanderers at the start of last season.

The 34 year old's performances helped keep Vale in the Football League last season, when they eventually finished 20th. He was the club's player of the season last year and hasn't let those standards drop in this campaign.

So, he gets in our team of the decade ahead of Neal, a former players' player of the season who helped the club to promotion in 2012/13, and Alnwick who was excellent in League One before a £250,000 move to Glasgow Rangers.

Next up for our team of the decade feature is the right-back spot. Look out for that one shortly....
