Kimanis Power Plant

Announcements - 16 November 2012
Sabah Economic Development & Investment Authority - SEDIA

Kimanis Power Plant
  • Kimanis Power Plant is one of the initiatives under "Power Up Sabah" plan, which is a key component of the Sabah Development Corridor Blueprint 2008-2015.

The plant and the associated improvements in amenities and utilities will provide sufficient and reliable energy supply to propel the economic growth and development in the State of Sabah.

    Encik Samsudin Miskon
    Chairman, Kimanis Power Sdn Bhd
  • KPSB is on track to deliver the first phase of the power plant in December 2013 as the project is currently 80% completed and ahead of schedule.

Upon completion and operation of all 3 blocks in April 2014, this plant is expected to be an important component of the state's electricity supply grid, catering to Sabah's increasing demand for electricity – in tandem with its rapid industrial and economic growth.

The power plant will use the natural gas produced from the offshore fields in Sabah, which will be landed at and supplied by the terminal.
