eLetters is a forum for ongoing peer review. eLetters are not edited, proofread, or indexed, but they are screened. eLetters should provide substantive and scholarly commentary on the article. Embedded figures cannot be submitted, and we discourage the use of figures within eLetters in general. If a figure is essential, please include a link to the figure within the text of the eLetter. What's Its Name?
*What's its name?
NF-kB can widely inflame
but it can not take the blame
for a neural error
that caused a furor
when nuclear was dropped from its name.
*We note that a recent article—"Type 1 interferons and the virus-host relationship: a lesson in détente" by A. Garcia-Sastre and C. A. Biron, Review, Science 312 (5775) 879-882 (2006)—inadvertently transformed the proper name of nuclear factor-kB to neural factor-kB.
