Reviewer of the Month (2024)

In 2024, SHC reviewers continue to make outstanding contributions to the peer review process. They demonstrated professional effort and enthusiasm in their reviews and provided comments that genuinely help the authors to enhance their work.

Hereby, we would like to highlight some of our outstanding reviewers, with a brief interview of their thoughts and insights as a reviewer. Allow us to express our heartfelt gratitude for their tremendous effort and valuable contributions to the scientific process.

SHC Annual Report 2023

In 2023, with joint effort and support from all contributors, SHC made steady progress with publication of 33 articles with diverse article types. Authors were mainly from USA, Italy, Japan, UK, and China. According to the Google Analytics, SHC enjoyed a sizable number of pageviews (all together 125,256 and visitors over 60,000 worldwide, mainly from USA). Shanghai Chest 2022 CiteScore Released: 0.4

We are pleased to announce that the Shanghai Chest (SHC) has received its 2022 CiteScore: 0.4, ranking 412 out of 495 journals in the Surgery category.

Furthermore, we are delighted to highlight the remarkable achievements made by all AME journals in the CiteScore ranking.

Thoracic Surgery in High Risk Patients

Overall, we feel that these articles provide a comprehensive overview of the major topics and important considerations when managing high-risk patients being considered for thoracic surgery.

Lung Cancer Screening

This special series in Shanghai Chest on lung cancer screening provides insights form renowned experts in their field to important aspects of lung cancer screening going beyond just scanning persons at risk.

Second surgery

In this special series of Shanghai Chest, titled “Second Surgery”, we focus on secondary surgery for primary lung cancer and metastatic lung tumors, as well as surgical tips for complications.

Simulation-Based Education in Cardiac And Thoracic Surgery (Ongoing)

The series on “Simulation-Based Education In Cardiac And Thoracic Surgery” is edited by Prof. Leizl Joy Nayahangan from Copenhagen Academy for Medical Education and Simulation(Denmark), Prof. Lars Konge from Copenhagen Academy for Medical Education and Simulation(Denmark) and Prof. René Horsleben Petersen from Copenhagen University Hospital (Denmark).
