Ed Sheeran WINS fight to build burial crypt on his Suffolk estate despite furious neighbour trying to stop it
ED Sheeran’s controversial burial crypt on his estate is a dead cert to go ahead after it got the all-clear from council officials.
The Castle On The Hill singer applied last month to build a 9ft by 6ft chamber, enough to fit two bodies under a slab in the floor.
It would be created underneath a boat-shaped church for which Sheeran, 31 today, has already been given planning consent.
But the superstar’s idea is not a hit with everyone, with one critic seething that celebrities such as him were “detached from reality”.
In her letter of objection, Anna Woods said: “The area is well served by local churches and I feel there is no need for a well-known person to create his own island of calm when lovely places of worship abound in the area.
“I also note there will be a burial chamber in the building.
"Are celebrities now so detached from reality that their every living breath, and now even the act of dying, be apart from the rest of us?”

But East Suffolk Council’s environmental and conservation officials raised no objection.
Councillors will have to rubber-stamp the approval.
Sheeran lives on the 16-acre, £3.7million estate near Framlingham, Suffolk, with wife Cherry, 29, and their daughter Lyra, one.
It has been nicknamed Sheeranville and includes a main house bought in 2012, three other homes, its own pub, a recording studio, swimming pool and fruit orchard.
