Consultation is now open for the Solar Sunshot program. The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) are seeking industry feedback on the scale up of Australia’s solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing capacity. You can now review the consultation paper and provide feedback on the program’s design. Solar Sunshot will support innovative domestic manufacturing opportunities across the solar supply chain. This includes polysilicon production, production of ingots, wafers, solar PV cells, and solar module assembly. The Australian Government has invested $1 billion in Solar Sunshot. The program is being co-designed by ARENA and DCCEEW and will be delivered by ARENA. Congratulations, Katherine! 🚀 “When I dreamed of becoming an astronaut as a child, I never thought it possible to do so representing Australia. It's an honour to be graduating as an astronaut with the Australian flag on my shoulder,” reflects Katherine. Katherine Bennell-Pegg graduates as Australia's first ever qualified astronaut. After 13 months of training with the European Space Agency (ESA) in Germany, Katherine has graduated with five other peers as astronauts. History made! Overnight, Katherine Bennell-Pegg became the first qualified astronaut under the Australian flag. After 13 months of training with the European Space Agency - ESA in Germany, Katherine graduated alongside the Class of 2022, nicknamed "The Hoppers" - a reference to "hopping" back and forth between different classrooms during their training. “We are proud of Katherine. She will return to Australia a qualified astronaut brimming with knowledge, insights and connections that will help generate global opportunities for our industry,” said Agency Head Enrico Palermo who travelled to Cologne for the graduation ceremony. Designed by and for First Nations women and girls, the Change Agenda provides deep insight for forming First Nations gender-responsive policies and action.
