I just received this product this morning and wanted a gentle snow broom to get the snow off my solar panels. The consistency of the snow was powdery with a little bit of ice at bottom of the panels. This product is basically a Styrofoam block pressed and colored to appear more sturdy than it actually is. These are close up shots of the product after 1 use of getting snow of my solar panels. It may be good for automobiles but not for outdoor use otherwise. The description does list its use for getting snow off solar panels so I don't think I'm using the product outside of its described and advertised uses. This prodcut will not hold up beyond a few usesMajor dissappointment

I live in Vermont where we get TONS of snow, and you need a good brush to get your car cleaned off. My husband ordered this, and first i was a bit skeptical. But when i was able to clean my SUV off in under 5 minutes by just pushing the snow off the car i was sold. The extending handle extends to the total width of my car, and it so easy to handle i can do it with one hand. I love the light feature as well. I work late nights and over nights, and leaving in the dark and cleaning off your car in the dark is no fun. But i just turned on the lights on the brush and it lit the whole top of the car and allowed me to see just what i was cleaning off.
I totally suggest this to anyone who lives in a place where you get insane amounts of snow. My mother actually bought a snow broom, and it was horrible. so i got her a snow joe and she loves it.

This combination scraper/squeegee is a great inclusion in your existing snow kit for your car and I'll explain why. The size of the foam squeegee and the extendable handle is perfect for fast snow removal, especially if you are vertically challenged like me and struggle to get the roof and windshield. It is long enough to easily push the snow away from yourself instead of pulling it down onto yourself.

The fact that the squeegee end twists off and clips flat on the handle is simultaneously its greatest strength AND weakness. It is fantastic for storage, but moderate for usage. I once owned a non-folding snow squeegee and it was annoying to keep in my car so this is an improvement!

I found that using this squeegee at certain angles caused the foam head or extendable handle to twist loose. I frequently had to pause and tighten it or adapt my motions so I did not twist the foam head off. The scraper end of it is great to use fully extended, but works best without the large clunky squeegee end attached.

Because of the length and shape of this tool, it is also not the best option to clean off the sides of your car in tight spaces, specifically. I use it in combination with a shorter scraper/brush when I am parked close to other cars.

In summary, it is a versatile tool if a bit fiddly. Regardless, the reach is FANTASTIC for a short person, both when scraping ice and pushing off snow. The lights seem like they will be helpful at night time and the foam grips keep your hands warm. I have recommended it to several friends and coworkers.

I keep my snowjoe in my car at all times. It’s a lifesaver during the winter. It struggles a little bit with really heavy/tall snow but it’s significantly easier than using a regular one. The lights don’t do much for me but I could see them being helpful early in the morning when clearing off snow. It is easy to assemble and stores away well. My only complaint is that, when you’re actively using it the head starts to untwist from the handle and you have to stop and tighten it which is a pain.

Every time I used this it wants to come apart or is difficult to keep extended. During ice and snow storms I’ve had to take off my gloves to screw it together or just to get it to extend and then try to keep it from collapsing. What a pain. The ice scraper is useless. The foam piece does work well to scrape off large chunks of snow and there’s no worry about scratching your vehicle. That’s the only good thing about it. But keeping it extended is such a dang chore. Screwing it together is a chore. So no I can’t recommend. I’ll likely go back to a broom for next winter and a quality ice scraper.

My one qualm is the handle often unscrews from the foam piece that pushes the snow off the car and the extender often collapses while pushing snow. Before I shovel the driveway after each snowfall I like to clean off our cars first. With working from home and not moving the cars as often anymore, I don't like having a lot of snow and moisture sitting on the car for extended periods. This Snow Joe broom is AWESOME for going around the vehicles and quickly pulling all the snow off of them. It's the speed of a shovel, but for your car.

I keep ours in our garage with the shovels, so my only complaint would be that it might be a bit big and awkward to store in your car without unscrewing the head and clipping it onto the handle each time you're finished using it. I also find that it might be a bit trickier to get snow off of curvey parts given the larger size of the head (I have a sporty car, which has lots of angles and shapes), but since I just use it to rapidly clear the bulk of the snow and am not driving after I use it, then the little bits that remain aren't an issue. If I was using it before I drove, then I'd probably grab my traditional brush to finish off the grills, bumpers and mirrors to ensure I'm not operating a vehicle unsafe with snow flying off it.

With the snow Joe it took 5 minutes to remove 6 inch of snow off my vehicle. The head kept coming loose as I was pushing the snow off. I finally tape it in place. 5 minutes to remove all that snow at the end of my hospital shift is wonderful. I used my snow brush for the small areas.

Taking this item out of box I was so excited to get to try it.

I’ve read that foam is far superior to brushes to minimize scratches and marring to the paint surface.

I spun the telescopic arm to extend the brush to see how long it would go. A reasonable amount i thought and put it back to its shortest length.

The item is so poorly made inside where the notches connect with each other between the inner tube and outside tube.

The item no longer would lock.

If this happened out of the box, I am so worried what others would experience with even a few uses.

Again was super excited about using this item and everything about it totally makes sense! However I got unlucky I suppose?
