A large number of Hindu's participated in the 3-day second largest Hindu religious fair of Pakistan Ramapir Mela seeking divine help for their safety and protection from extremist elements who are largely responsible for their migration to India.

AMRITSAR: A large number of Hindu's of Pakistan participated in the 3-day second largest Hindu religious fair of Pakistan Ramapir Mela that concluded on Wednesday seeking divine help for their safety and protection from extremist elements who are largely responsible for their migration to India.
"Thousands of pilgrims and devotees from all provinces of Pakistan visited Tando Allahyar city in Sindh province to participate in the festival and offered prayers for their well being and safety in Pakistan " informed local priest Rajesh Kalyan while talking to TOI over phone on Wednesday.

Rajesh informed that he delivered religious preaching's eulogizing Ramapir and also elaborated his teachings. He informed that most of the pilgrims walked all the way to reach Tando Allahyar for days and weeks from various parts of Pakistan. Pakistani Hindus subscribing to tribes including Bheel, Megwar, Kholi, Gujrati, Marwari, Bhagri, Vaghri, Thakur etc. were the followers of Ramapir said the priest.
The Ramapir Mela had begun on September 24th . He informed that Ramapir was revered both by Hindu's and Muslims and was also known as Bhagwan Ramadev Maharaj and was regarded by Hindu's as incarnation of lord Krishna.
He informed that as par the prevalent myth five Pir's from Mecca came to test Ramapir's miraculous powers and after being convinced of his 'shakti' they paid homage to him and since then he was venerated by Muslims as Ramshapir or Ramapir.While shouting the slogan of Jeay Ramapir (Long live Rama pir) President of Pakistan Hindu Seva, Sanjash S Dhanja informed that the devotees arrived Ramapir temple carrying Dajja (flags) of different colours and believed that their prayers would be answered .
"Hindu's are concerned about their safety and security , this is a divine help which they seek from Ramapir" he said. They also offered coconuts, rice, churma and toys to the deity. He also informed that members of Raja Group sang songs in praise of Ramapir and shared Hindu's concerns in Pakistan .
