Robin Wright has won her first Golden Globe for the Netflix series "House of Cards."

Robin Wright, the icy politician's wife in the Washington, D.C.-set drama "House of Cards," makes history as the first actress to win a Golden Globe for an online-only series.

"House of Cards," a remake of a British series by the same name, was produced for Netflix, and all episodes went live the same day, which undoubtedly made for a sleepless night or two for fans of intricately-plotted, devilishly-acted dramas. It was Netflix's second original series, and has also earned nominations for best drama, best actor in a drama for Kevin Spacey, who plays Wright's husband, a Congressman who plots revenge after being passed over for a Cabinet post, and best supporting actor for Corey Stoll, who plays a troubled politician manipulated by Spacey's character.

It was Wright's second Golden Globe nomination; she was last nominated in 1995 for best supporting actress for "Forrest Gump." Her competition this year included Kerry Washington of "Scandal," Julianna Margulies of "The Good Wife," Tatiana Maslany of "Orphan Black," and Taylor Schilling of "Orange is the New Black," another Netflix original production.
