Recent changes in the african american population within the united states and the question of the color line at the beginning of the 21st century

Abstract

This paper discusses change in the African American population at the start of the 21st century. It presents population, employment, and residential changes among African Americans. It concludes by glossing the progressive integration, continuing significance of race, and changing significance of race explanations of changes in the African American population. It concludes that the data best fit the changing significance of race model.
