BURBANK, March 7: DIC Entertainment has appointed Kaaren Lee Brown to the position of senior VP of creative affairs, a role that will see her overseeing the CBS’s Secret Saturday Morning Slumber Party programming block that launches this fall.

She will also work closely with the DIC Educational Advisory Board—a group comprised of media experts, educators and pediatricians that provides advice to the company on the development of new projects for kids. The block will feature three hours of FCC-compliant children’s programming from DIC, including Madeline and Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego, as well as Sabrina: The Animated Series, Liberty’s Kids, Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century and The Littles.

Brown has worked for over 15 years in children’s entertainment in creative, marketing, development, production and consumer products.  For the past five years, she has served as a consultant for developing creative content and marketing strategies, creating sales materials, managing customer relations and negotiating contracts for clients, including DIC, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Classic Media, American Greetings, THQ and Platinum Studios.
