Visitors Guide available in seven  languages

We have have updated and translated our two-page, guide of the Heritage site to English, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, French and German. Visiting Skogskyrkogården

You are very welcome to visit Skogskyrkogården all year round. The cemetery is open every day of the year and can be entered all hours. In the summer, the Visitors Center is open daily from June until August, and Sundays in May and September.

The chapels and their interiors can be viewed with an authorised Skogskyrkogården guide, there are public guided tours Sundays at 10.30 3 July - 25 September. At other times – book via Stockholm City Museum.

Over 2,000 funerals are held in the five chapels of Skogskyrkogården every year. So please bear in mind and respect the fact that Skogskyrkogården is a place where many come to say their final farewells, to remember lost loved ones or to tend graves. During a guided tour, the group is able to view the unique chapel interiors without any risk of meeting or disturbing any mourners.

Sound art at the Cemetery

Let me lose myself is a site-specific sound art exhibition inspired by and embedded in the multilayered and dramatic architecture, landscape and history of the Woodland Cemetery. The fifth episode of this ongoing exhibition, a sound piece by the South African artist James Webb, launched in August 2013.
