Giving History

Served as the President of the Donald J. Trump Foundation until December 2016. In 2014, the foundation had assets exceeding $1.2 million and donated more than $500,000. Recipients include: Police Athletic League; the National Football Foundation; Mount Sinai Hospital; the MorseLife Foundation; Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; the Make-A-Wish Foundation; the Muscular Dystrophy Association; St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters; Susan G. Komen, an organization which aims to end breast cancer; the National Network to End Domestic Violence and several other organizations. In addition, Trump and his wife have made a lifetime donation of more than $100,000 to the American Heart Association. Other organizations which Trump has supported include the University of Miami, Seeds of Peace, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library, and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. In 2016, Trump donated $1 million to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, a charity that gives scholarships to the children of war veterans. In April 2017, three months after taking over as the U.S. President, Trump donated his first quarterly salary of about $78,333 to the National Park Service, an agency of the U.S. federal government that manages all U.S. national parks. Trump also pledged to donate his annual salary, of about $400,000 as the U.S. President, by the end of 2017. In September 2017, following the flooding in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas, Trump donated $1 million of his personal wealth to 12 nonprofit organizations, including the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Reach Out America and the ASPCA, to provide emergency assistance and disaster relief to the people affected by the hurricane. In 2018, Trump donated $100,000, his third quarter salary, to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
