Match ends, Sutton United 0, AFC Wimbledon 0.
National League side Sutton United held League One Wimbledon to a goalless draw to force an FA Cup third-round replay.
Sutton's Maxime Biamou came close to opening the scoring in the first half, firing a shot off the top of the bar following a swift counter-attack.
Biamou was denied again after the break, Dons keeper James Shea making a sharp save to keep out his low shot.
Dons striker Tom Elliott had a header cleared off the line in stoppage time, but neither side could find a winner.
Sutton will be the lowest-ranked team left in the draw for the fourth round, which takes place on Monday, following seventh-tier Stourbridge's 2-1 defeat by Wycombe.
The non-league club have reached the fourth round on two previous occasions, the last time coming in the 1988-89 season, when they beat then-top flight opponents Coventry in the third round.
Wimbledon, who were returning to the ground where they played their first game after forming in 2002, have never reached round four.
The Dons had reached the third round only once before this season, losing to Premier League side Liverpool in 2015.
Sutton United manager Paul Doswell:
"We restricted them to very little so from that perspective I have to be very happy.
"There's a sense of disappointment because I think everyone was hoping for a last-minute winner, but I've told the players they could not have done any more.
"I think we did the National League justice. In fact I would say we looked more like the League One team."
Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley:
"I definitely thought Sutton edged it, but I expected them to. I never came here thinking this would be an easy game.
"I was very concerned about the pitch and their home form over the last 18 months proves what a good team they are.
"Paul Doswell said it himself that teams don't like coming here and playing on this pitch. I knew it wouldn't suit us and I knew we would need a lot of qualities to be in the hat for the next round, and that was our remit."
