Relive Brentford's play-off final win over Swansea

Swansea turn to their bench for the first time.

Striker Liam Cullen is on and full-back Kyle Naughton is off.

It's been all Swansea since the restart.

Brentford have to be careful they don't sit too deep and hand the Swans the impetus. The travelling fans from Wales are stirring.

However, the west London club have the ability to hurt their opponents on the counter-attack.

It's all about game management and calm heads for the Bees now.

Swansea are giving this a go.

Jamal Lowe collects Kyle Naughton's low cross on the edge of the six-yard box and swivels well to get a shot in.

It flashes well wide but another warning for the Bees that this isn't quite over yet.

A rare foray forward for the Bees and they maybe should have had a third.

The cross into the box probably isn't the best by Bryan Mbeumo adjusts to it but then smashes his effort way over the bar.

Brentford haven't really troubled the Swansea defence since Ivan Toney smashed a shot against the crossbar just after they had made it 2-0.

Of course, you could argue they don't really need to push too many men forward now they have a two-goal advantage.

Swansea have improved at the start of the second period, which you felt had to happen after their lacklustre effort in the first half.

Having changed his system before the game, Steve Cooper has reverted to 4-2-3-1, with Andre Ayew now operating centrally with Jamal Lowe and Connor Roberts on either flank.

They still have it all to do, but they are at least asking a few questions of Brentford now - and their fans are responding.

Swansea forward Jamal Lowe shows great skill and strength to cut in from the left but he has a rush of blood to the head an his shot is high and wide.

Encouraging signs for the Swans though.

Connor Roberts swings in a beaut of a cross that the Bees defenders don't want to touch in case they put it in their own net and Andre Ayew hurls himself at it but it flies off his head and away from goal.

Brentford get us back under way.

Can Swansea turn this around or is it finally the Bees' time?

Brentford look very, very strong. Ivan Toney is having a massive influence on the game as we knew he would.

Swansea have huge experience in their ranks and those experienced players need to calm the younger players down.

Brentford and their supporters are now just 45 minutes away from a place in the Premier League for the first time, and a return to the top flight for the first time since 1946-47.

After that first half, surely nothing can go wrong now for the Bees?

But play-off finals are never cut and dried. I was here when Leyton Orient went in 2-0 up at the break in the League One final in 2014.

Then Alex Revell netted twice for opponents Rotherham - the second a sensational dipping volley from 35 yards - and it was 2-2 by the hour mark.

Swansea require a transformation during their time with Steve Cooper in the dressing room. The Welsh side have looked bereft of attacking creativity and quality so far.

And, for comedian and Swansea City fan Ellis James, the opening 20 minutes was all about clutching onto any positive vaguely possible...

Much was made before kick-off of Brentford's fairly hopeless play-off record, but they seemed pretty determined to put that to rest in the opening stages at Wembley today...

'Super Brentford' was the cry from those decked out in red and white as the half-time whistle blew.

No wonder Brentford's fans are smiling.

After all their failures on the big occasion, the Bees are firmly in control here.

Having not got going, Swansea need a mighty second half if they are to find a way back into this contest.

Ivan Toney gave them an early lead from the penalty spot after Swansea goalkeeper Freddie Woodman had felled Bryan Mbeuno in the area and made it 2-0 after 20 minutes when Emiliano Marcondes swept home after a counter attack.

The Swans have had almost all of the ball since then but are yet to force Bees goalkeeper David Raya into a notable save.

We're into two minutes of time added on and the best thing I can say for Swansea so far is this scoreline could have been worse.
