  1. Post update

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea

Swansea midfielder Jay Fulton smashes a long-range shot straight at Brentford defender Ethan Pinnock.

Bees goalkeeper David Raya has yet to make a save yet.

Mind you, neither has Swansea goalkeeper Freddie Woodman and his side are 2-0 down.

  2. 'Swansea need the next goal'

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea

    Jed Wallace

Millwall midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Swansea have a little bit of possession and don't really go anywhere.

They need the next goal to turn this one around.

    Steve Cooper
  3. Post update

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea

Swansea forward Jamal Lowe tries to bustle his way through but the Brentford backline stands resolute.

The Swans are having almost all of the ball now but they're 2-0 down and the Bees are happy to just keep them at arm's length.

Alphonse Rawlinson: Premier League looks like it's going to buzzing with hornets and bees. Going to take some comeback to put the Swans in flight.

Bertie Black: As a Forest supporter, I can't help but feel a twang of vengeance for the tail end of last year. Sorry Swansea fans.

Paul Collins: How have Swansea got here? They're awful. Lucky not be down to 10 men already as well. So far not even looking like troubling Brentford.

They need a stroke of luck to keep their promotion dreams alive.

  5. Post update

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea

    Better from Swansea!

A Conor Hourihane corner causes some trouble and when it is recycled by Jake Bidwell the Bees concede another corner under little pressure.

This one is plucked from the sky by Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.

  6. Post update

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea

    Brentford v Swansea

    Finally Swansea threaten.

Conor Roberts nearly gets in behind the Brentford defence but they scramble back and clear it away for a throw in.

Roberts launches it into the area but again the Bees clear with relative ease.

  7. Shoe is on the other foot for Swansea

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea City

    Gareth Vincent

    BBC Sport Wales at Wembley

Ten years ago, Swansea won promotion to the Premier League after storming into a 3-0 first-half lead against Reading on this ground.

Today, the shoe is on the other foot.

Swansea have not going as yet, and have a mountain to climb now if they are to return to the top flight this afternoon.

For now their fans, like Steve Cooper's players, are reeling a little after Swansea's desperate opening quarter.

  8. Post update

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea

Quick bit of housekeeping, Brentford's second goalscorer Emiliano Marcondes was booked shortly after scoring but I was too busy typing out about Ivan Toney hitting the bar to nearly make it 3-0.

That's a booking apiece after Swans skipper Matt Grimes was booked very early on for a poor challenge.

Feel like that set the tone for what has followed for the Welsh outfit.

  9. 'Swansea are shell-shocked'

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea

    Alistair Bruce-Ball

    BBC Radio 5 Live commentator

    Brentford v Swansea

Brentford are in control. They've been brilliant and have really grabbed it by the scruff of the neck.

    Swansea are shell-shocked.

  10. Post update

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea

Swansea pop the ball about nicely around 25 yards from the Brentford goal but it breaks down and Brentford are back on the ball.

It might sound silly but Swansea have just got to make sure this doesn't get any worse before half-time.

They're getting hammered at the moment.

  11. Pumped up Bees in ascendancy

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea

    Rob Stevens

    BBC Sport at Wembley

What a half the Bees are having.

After Emiliano Marcondes rounded off a counter-attack to make it 2-0, Ivan Toney almost scored a sensational volley.

I'm almost in line with the Swansea goal, and it was mere inches from heading in as it bounced down just in front of Freddie Woodman's line.

The Bees have celebrated both goals in front of the Swans fans, who have now been stunned into almost silence.

It's a long, long way back for their side, who have barely threatened. Brentford have certainly been pumped up from the off.

  12. Get Involved

    #bbcefl

Nick Bruzon: What a run from Mbeumo. What a pass from Roerslev. What a finish from Emiliano.

Matthew Chapman: Swansea have thrown the towel in here big time!

LOOOOOOOONG way back for Swansea here.

    Brentford v Swansea
  13. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea

    So close to 3-0!

Ivan Toney hits a stunning volley from 20 yards that smashes off the crossbar and lands just in front of the line.

That would have been game over.

  14. 'Brilliant from Brentford'

    Brentford 2-0 Swansea

    Jed Wallace

Millwall midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

    It's brilliant from Brentford.

Emilaino Marcondes plays in the big games and you can see why. He pops up with a fantastic finish from the near post.

They need to hold on until half-time.

  15. GOAL: Brentford 2-0 Swansea

    Emilaino Marcondes

    Brentford goal

    Brentford in dreamland!

Oh, what a goal this is.

The Bees counter on Swansea and Bryan Mbeumo tees up Mads Roerslev, who squares for Emiliano Marcondes to steer home a beauty.

  16. Post update

    Brentford 1-0 Swansea

Swansea win a free-kick about 40 yards out on their right.

Conor Roberts swings it in but goalscorer Ivan Toney is on hand to head away.

  17. 'Swansea just can't keep hold of the ball'

    Brentford 1-0 Swansea

    Ian Walsh

Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

Brentford look far more of a threat in the final third. Swansea just can't keep a hold of the ball high up the pitch.

    Brentford
  18. 'Swans have it all to do'

    Brentford 1-0 Swansea

    Jed Wallace

Millwall midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

You're going to be very tired. I've never, ever felt so drained than I have in the opening 15 minutes of a play-off final.

Brentford certainly look the better team, Swansea have it all to do.

  19. Post update

    Brentford 1-0 Swansea

The Bees are swarming all over the Swans at the moment.

Swansea have hardly been out of their half, while Brentford look dangerous every time they go forward.

  20. Finally Brentford's time?

    Brentford 1-0 Swansea

    Rob Stevens

    BBC Sport at Wembley

There was never any danger of Ivan Toney missing from the spot.

That's his 11th penalty from his haul of 33 Championship goals this season.

Toney's technique is so calm, striding up to the spot slowly and picking his spot - this time in the bottom left-hand corner.

In Brentford's two most recent play-off finals, in League One in 2013 and the Championship last season, they've fallen 2-0 behind.

Having taken the lead this year, is it finally their time to win a play-off final at the fifth attempt?
