psg respect peamount

FRENCH giants Paris Saint-Germain insist they will take Peamount United seriously when they meet the Irish team in this evening's UEFA Women's Champions League last-32 first leg tie at Tallaght Stadium (7.45).

The west Dublin club made history for an Irish side by qualifying from the UEFA group stages in August.

PSG boss Camillo Vaz said yesterday he expected to bring a "positive result" back to Paris for next Wednesday's leg, but he didn't underestimate the Women's FAI Cup winners from last year. We know Peamount have very good players and the match will be 50/50. This is our club's first time in the UEFA Champions League and we will need two good performances to reach the next round," he said.

Peamount United (probable) -- Meehan; Sinnott, Byrne, Quinn, Murray; Jenkins, Duggan, Russell; O'Gorman, Lawlor, Roche.
