Aadhaar PVC: Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identity number that serves as proof of identity and address in India. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has recently rolled out a revamped version of the Aadhaar card (PVC). According to the UIDAI official website, "Aadhaar PVC Card is the latest form of Aadhaar introduced by UIDAI. Other than being easy to carry and durable, the PVC-based Aadhaar Card has a digitally signed secure QR code with photograph and demographic details with multiple security features."

Aadhaar cardholders can apply for the Aadhaar PVC by visiting the UIDAI Official Website or Resident Portal using 12 digits Aadhaar Number (UID) or 16 digits Virtual Identification Number (VID) or 28 digits Enrollment ID. Requests can also be raised using a registered or non-registered mobile number.

However, keep in mind that UIDAI has fixed a fee of Rs 50/-(inclusive of GST & Speed post charges) to get the Aadhaar reprint on the PVC card.

Reprint Aadhaar PVC online

  • First, visit the UIDAI website, https://uidai.gov.in/
  • Next, on UIDAI's website home page, select My Aadhaar
  • Now, under the Get Aadhaar section, select the 'Order Aadhaar PVC Card' option
  • Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number
  • After that, enter the Security Code or Captcha code
  • Click on Send OTP; you will receive the code on the registered mobile number
  • Enter the OTP you received on your registered mobile number
  • Check the terms and conditions and click Submit
  • Select the payment option and pay the required amount.

Once your payment is done successfully, you will receive the new Aadhaar card by Speed Post within five working days, excluding the day of request. However, after applying for the new Aadhaar card, you can also check the status of their Aadhaar PVC card on the official website of the UIDAI.
