Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday announced the death of legendary former captain Ryder Mofokeng.
The ex-skipper and one of the founding stars of the club in 1970, Mofokeng (70) led Amakhosi to numerous titles during their early days.
The former defender was part of the festivities earlier in 2020 when Chiefs celebrated their 50th anniversary. The former Chiefs academy coach, like the other club legends, would have been disappointed last year when the club failed to end their trophy drought despite a long run at the summit of the league table.
